Hi, I was after some advice. A buyer purchased an item with BIT on Thursday nite and then realised that I had it listed as a pick up item- they are in another state. They sent me a message (through a different listing) that nite and stated just that. I sent back an email in the morning asking them if they wanted me to get a postage price for them, didn't hear from them so on Friday arvo went to post office and got a price. I have messaged the buyer and even sent an invoice. No response so far. Postage was only $12, so reasonable.
What is everyones advice? How long should I wait to hear back re postage & payt? And would it be a non payer dispute I would lodge- as they did want it and were obviously going to pay the postage orginally?

I would treat it as a non payer when the time comes, as they didn't read the listing properly and then you have done the right by offering postage afterwards at a resonable price.
Send a message saying you have sent an ebay invoice for payment if you haven't already. Then at about day 5 open a case and you may get payment then.

Thank you for the help. That is what I'll do. Hopefully they just pay and make my life easier! Thanks

I received a message back from the purchaser on Monday night (4 business days later), stating that she went and brought a simular item locally. So I opened a non payer dispute on Tuesday. I know from these forums that I should close it in 4 days (from time of opening), what is the reason for 4 days timeframe? and can I close this one earlier as she has no intention of buying it? Thanks

4 ebay days- not business days...

If you close it before the 4 days is up and it says you can now close this case, you will lose your FVF and buyer gets off scott free to do it again.
Just wait the 4 days, it will say you can now close this case when time is up, then select has the buyer paid for this item, select NO.
This way you get your FVF back and buyer gets a NPB strike!
You can also call ebay after and get your listing fee back if you can be bothered.

Oops i ment to say if you close the case before the 4 days is up then you lose your FVF.
It will say you can now close this case after the 4 days is up.

Thank you both for your help and advise.
And I was wondering about credit for the BIN listing fee but for 10c its not worth calling eBay. maybe eBay should look into a way of charging the non payer...
