Buyer contacts me today. This is the message:
Just wanted to say that the item I received was not this one. The one I received is as per the photo. It's okay but would like the other if u still have it.
This is a link to my listing with the photos of the top:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/164122652992?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649
This is the photo she took of the top that I sent to her:
Now am I crazy, or is this not the exact same top?
Anyway, how should I proceed with this? I'm thinking she may have changed her mind about the top once she received it, and in that case, I specify in the listing that it's a partial refund. I just wanted someone else to take a look at the photos and tell me what they thought.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Thank you, that actually makes a ton of sense about the lighting. I'll have to do something about that.
As of right now, I've sent her a message but she hasn't messaged me back yet. So I'll have to mention the thing about the lighting as I'd sent the message before I saw your comment.
Thanks to everyone who responded!

just tell her to only wear it to dimly lit places (once iso is over). That way, it will look like what she wanted.

Such silly suggestion, k1 - obviously, with a suitably tinted pair of sunglasses the buyer could wear it in even the brightest of locations and still maintain the desired look. Think things through a bit more carefully before posting in future

To be fair, the buyer's photo looks like the flash was used (just going by how blindingly white the top of that counter is, and the slightly washed out look).
First one's a little dark, second one's a little bright, pity reality wasn't just right.

I was responding to thread in general and the whole "listing photo is too dark" thing with a "buyer's photo is too bright / Goldilocks" joke.

That's hard to believe.
Goldilocks is one of the most prolific sellers of all time.
She sells kitchen chairs, porridge bowls, beds, and blonde wigs, plus maps to the dark woods.

On my monitor, your picture looks blue and hers looks turquoise.
She may have been expecting blue (e.g. to match something) and received turquoise, hence disappointed.
My camera does not like blues but I haven't worked out how to fix that!
