Buyers that purchase multiple postal items, then purchase a pick up item??

Anyone got advice on this case? A buyer who purchased a small postable item (a shirt) with $8 postage charge. Ask if they can pick it up. I decline. A few days later they purchase another small item (a kids dress) and ask to pick up. I decline. They ask for combined postage. I oblige & send combined postage invoice. The buyer then pays via bank deposit. A day or so later, I list some larger items (bunk bed, kitchen canisters etc) and offer pick up in the listing. The buyer contacts me again asking why I am offering pick up for those things but wont allow pick up of my clothes. I explain. The buyer then emails me saying that they are going to bid on my 'pick up items' - do not send the items they've paid for. The buyer then successfully bids on some of my pick up items and wants to use her 'postage credit' from the items that she already paid postage for towards her new purchases...and keeps buying from me...and states, i am still bidding on more items!! The original purchases were in MID MAY and we're approaching MID JUNE!! I have only just worked out how to block the buyer. This buyer has now purchased a pick up item (kitchen canisters & set of coffee mugs .99c!!!!!) along with a number of clothing items that were specifically NO PICK UP Postage ONLY. I buy prepaid postage satchels, and this throws my whole system out of whack and I am really cross that this buyer seems to have 'written her own terms of sale' - any advice on how i should tackle this one?? thanks.

You mention the buyer has paid for the postage on the early 2 auctions but now the 'pick-up' item has been won, so she can pick up all of the goods from the auctions. I hear how annoyingly the buyer has managed to not go with your terms of sale on the first 2 items, but I'd just go with the flow, finish the transactions and block this buyer if you are not happy with the way the transaction has gone.. If it had happened the other way roung - pick-up auction first and then postage + items it might not seem so wilful.

I'd be worried if you hadn't been paid for the first auctions and the buyer was stringing out the payment process, but this doesn't seem the case.

Well, I don't really see a problem here. They are coming to pick-up one item that was sold as "Pick-up", so why not let them grab the other ones while they are there? Are you out of pocket or been disadvantaged really???????? So why didn't you post the items straight away anyway?

A term springs to mind here "Customer service". Your items are selling so be happy I say.

I too don't really see a problem. They are coming anyway and they are buying and paying for the items. I would think great my stuff is selling.

One thing I do find strange u point out the mug set they won for 99cents!!!!!!!! what difference does that make u did list the items so they could be bought at that price. Do u feel them getting a low price item that you are owed the postage on the other.

I agree with the advice that has been given. The buyer has paid for the non pick up items and then bought items that pick up is allowed. There is no inconvenience to you so I don't see the problem.

JMO but I'm surprised the buyer hasn't reported you for internet fraud.

They have paid a total stranger on the internet via bank deposit, they have nothing to show for their money & you want to complain because they wish to pickup & pay CASH I presume for the pickup items.

I tend to agree with the above too.

I do understand your frustration OP, that you had said no pick up and the buyer wants to use "postage credit" but I think it's something you should have offered anyway.

BUT, you say you've got pre-paid postage options in place. If that's the case, and you've paid for her postage, then I can see why you're a little miffed at this. If I were you in that regard, I would post those items off and allow her to pick up the others and explain why you've done it this way. If you haven't paid for postage, just let her pick it all up together, then block her.

By the way, the reason I say I would post them if postage is already paid, is because if that's the case, I presume you have tracking. At least she couldn't claim the items weren't delivered if tracking says it was. If she picks them up, you'll have no recourse.

Don't blame me. I didn't vote him in ...

curios here - no judgement

1) If the clothes were paid for in Mid may, why weren't they posted in Mid May?

2) Why were you adamant that Pick Up wasn't allowed in Mid May listed items? (I rarely allow anything to be picked up - I hate it - and I very rarely sell anything that can't be posted for this reason)

I do understand, what the buyer has done would annoy me, so I see where you are coming from, but I don't understand why it bothers you to have some things picked up but not others.

Some sellers are not happy with people coming to their homes and picking items up however if you are selling pick up only item that is obviously not the case so why would you have a problem with a buyer coming to collect and pay cash? I absolutely agree that if they paid with Paypal then I would insist on the item being posted but unless you are adding excessive packaging and handling fees why would you insist on posting?

I would contend that it's a silly seller that pays for postage before despatching items. If they're already in the mail then the buyer has to wear that. Otherwise it tends towards a non-optimal result for both seller and buyer.

I would have blocked them after the first query, but I'm a wuss.
