It is against ebay policy to say in a listing that it is offered for sale anywhere else. You can cancel a listing anytine up until the last 12 hours of the end, you will have to cancel any bids first.

Thanks for reply. Must be new e-bay policy? Have often seen ads saying 'reserve right to withdraw due to advertising elsewhere.'

Not a new policy at all. Always been that way. Others are breaking ebay policy by stating so.

The short and dirty legal answer is Yes, you can.

Your listing is an Invitation to treat.

The bid is an offer.

Acceptance does not occur until the auction is finalized/ended. so until then, there is no contract.

You can withdraw anything you like for sale whilst there is no contract in place.

I understand buyer experience is very important - but it is an interesting policy that ebay have in place as it seems somewhat restrictive in terms of trading in AU economy and a traders right to promote and sell their wares.
