After a recent discussion on the boards, I checked my seller dashboard (which I rarely do). I was surprised to see one of my recent buyers left low enough stars for item description to earn me a defect. Considering she gave me glowing feedback, I emailed her and asked why. She replied to say she thought she had given me 5 stars across the board, and that she was very happy with the item and description. Is there any way the stars can be changed?

Hello, sorry to hear that.
Can they be changed, yes.
Will they be changed , no.
Your stuck with what you got.

If you have in it a message from the buyer that it was a mistake, get in touch with eBay and ask them to read the message. I have done that twice now and both times they removed the rating and defect.

I sent them an email as I was short on time, but the usual recommendation is to call them (or have them call you back)

I've sent them an email as I have to go out in a few minutes.

Ask the buyer to send you an email stating that they left the DSR stars in error, and are happy etc etc.
Then email CS, and refer them to the buyer email ......
Have one this a few times lately, always with success. But you need that email from the buyer.

This is what I did.

Not necessarily correct. I had an item picked up. Buyer very happy with her purchase and left glowing feedback. Then I find I have two defects - Item not as described, and Postage Time. Both of these pretty much impossibilities due to item being personally collected. Took a couple of phone calls from my buyer and myself to get the star rating adjusted, but it did happen.
Buyer swears she never touched the stars, and never does. The problem arises when fb is left using an IPhone.
And I will just about guarantee if OP asked her buyer if she used an IPhone, the answer would be yes.
I did put a 'heads up' post about this some weeks ago. Oh, and eBay agree there is a glitch in the app for IPhone users.

This is completely incorrect.
If you have it in an email from the buyer that the low stars was a mistake, EBay WILL remove the defect for you - Ive done this many, many times.
