I have just started selling in ebay.i would like to minimise postage fees to my customers.
But,I have seen, minimum postage is 6.60 upto 500 gms and satchel or cardboard cost on top of that making postage fees to customer more.
I have seen Auspost ebay 500 gms satchels ,they were too small to fit my items.
So,please suggest me any cheaper way to post the item.
I have seen some big items like baby cots, toys mentioning postage as 9.95,may I know how can send the items in that low cost?

Sellers who can post for $9.95 might hold an account with Aus Post and receive a discount
There is no way around paying $6.60 for 500 grams plus packaging costs. Pre paid satchels are discounted if you buy a vast amount.

I use Click and Send for most stuff: $6.20 and $10.50 for 500g and 3 kilos.
And when I offer Free Postage on a womans top, it means I've decided to discount the price by $6!!
People who sell things like cots almost certainly are factoring the freight into their prices.
If a seller has dodgy DSRs. "free post" improves them with 5 stars for postage cost.
Personally I think we need a larger AP prepaid bag for cheap but light and bulky items, however I doubt that this will happen.
But eBay is not IMO a great venue for selling large, bulky items unless there is room to include the postage in the price.

Looking at your items on sale at the moment, if they weigh under 500gms maybe wrap in bubblewrap then brown paper. Postage then $6.60
Add a small charge for a wrapping fee. You could then charge $7.00?
If the weight still allows for more, add some recycled cardboard for extra protection. ??

Ordinary red satchels are not enough for Paypal seller protection and they are also more expensive. If you use click & send it is cheaper and you have seller protection.
If an item weighs over 500g then I just quote the cost for a 3kg satchel and in the listing where I giver the postage cost I add, in brackets, that it is over 500g.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?
