It's disgusting how eBay Australia allows international Chinese sellers to list and sell on our site
My opposition are primarily Chinese who sell items for $1.00 (including shipping) But for me, the cheapest shipping within Australia is $7.20 + the cost of the product. How can we compete with that? Yes, to send an item the size of two box of matches (for example) is $7.20
At the very least, our listings should get priority and appear ahead of theirs in search results
If your interested in drafting a protest, please post your interest here.

Yes we can discuss topics here but there is not much point in answering the OP of a 2 year old thread when they have not been on the boards since asking the question.
Also, rules change on ebay....old threads are often very outdated.
If you need to ask a question you should start your own thread and get current information.

And only a mug would think a $6 watch was made in Australia, or that Australian owned and operated referred to anything but the seller's business.

An Aussie made watch for that price? I'd like to see that. Also, if all the Chinese sellers were booted of Ebay Aust, there wouldn't be much left to winge about regardless.

We're not allowed to talk about it. I thought here we can discuss topics that are meaningful and relevant openly.
It is an old thread but you're recent, so i don't mind discussing it.
I wouldn't ban Chinese or any foreign ads on the Australian ebay. I buy stuff from overseas sometimes myself and I like to have choices.
But I liked the way things were set out years back, where the items in Australia were all listed first in your search and then under them was a section that said something like "From international sellers".
I know there is a tab to tick that will show 'Australia Only" but it gets to be a pain if you have to tick options every time you log on.
Don't ban anyone but Australia listed first, others second.
Won't cut out the drop shippers but I'd like it like that, anyway.

That was a very helpful way of bumping a dead thread. I'm sure your advice will be taken on board by all the sellers here.
Which is probably about three who still use the boards. And at least one doesn't sell items the Chinese compete with, so that makes two.

I think China should be banned from eBay also, the shipping times are up to two months and with no reliable tracking it’s ridiculous, the seller is sometimes listed in Australia but the items gets shipped from China, it’s just not good enough.

If the shipping times are that, then it is up to you to make the decision. It is a fairly sure bet the item/s isn't in Australia.
It is easy enough to tell where the SELLER is registered.
