Click & Collect from 26 April

From 26 April, Click & Collect will be enabled on your account. Click & Collect is a great way to boost your sales by offering an additional level of service. Rather than sending an item to a person's home, simply post it to the Woolworths or Big W address they choose.

So it looks like anyone that has opted out in the past will now be opted in.
I can't opt out via preferences as I haven't got it listed in there,(so I presume I opted out at some time),Who knows.gif

As long as they don't put it back in as I wont be using it.

Trouble is...I can't always get what I need at Woolies either 😛

We rarely have difficulty getting things at the Woolworths we go to....it is a new one at Wolli Creek and is absolutely ginormous.  I am sure if an item is not available there it is just not available anywhere.

There are a few things that I prefer from Woolworths....my OH likes their Mud Cake and I love their pork loin cutlets.  In fact I think their meat is better than Coles for the most part.  I do wish our local butcher had not retired....the next best one is too far to travel every week so I am stuck with supermaret meat.

Actually Tippy, I dun tolded a lie....my OH's offer was for $60.

I just skimmed over it when I accepted it as I had already accepted my offer and I did not expect it to be any different.

Does Mr Tippy have a rewards card....and is it used as much as yours?

I was told that if you spread your shopping around on 2 cards you end up getting more generous offers.  My experience shows this to be true.

A lot of our Woolworths shopping is done by my OH on the way home from work so his card got a good workout whereas mine didn't.

Just before Christmas I started getting special offers sent to my card but not to OH's card.

These days he has both cards in his wallet and just uses the one that comes to hand, unless the offer involves shopping over several weeks.

We have certainly seen an increase in generous offers coming our way.

No, Mr Tippy doesn't have a card, even though he shops as much as I do. I never shop at Coles. I chop between Woollies and IGA, depending on what I need to get. If I want snags or lasagne (from the fridge, not the freezer), I go to IGA. If I want thick cut steak, I go to Woolies. Regular steak I'll get from IGA. They don't have thick cut. I get their budget steak because it's far nicer than the full price stuff. I found out from the butcher there that the difference is, the cow is over 3yo and usually grass fed. The meat probably stays more tender as the animal isn't subjected to the stress of a feedlot.

I've only had the card for a few months and haven't really used it a lot, that's probably why my offer wasn't as high.

I would suggest Mr Tippy gets a card even if you use it the way we do....just keep rotating the card you use.

It has definitely increased the offers we have had in the last few months....some of them very lucrative.

The Coles and Woolies near me are both fairly new and ginormous, but I find if I Woolies shop then I cannot get a few Brands I like (cheeses and the like).

Meat I go to the butcher usually. Woolies next. Coles meat was great but has slipped.

I mostly stopped going to Coles when they started gas flushing their meat. Even though the process is not meant to affect the taste, we could definitely tell the difference. Plus, after they did the shopping centre up, parking was further away and you couldn't take the trolleys from the store. Sometimes the bags were too heavy to carry so far. At least IGA I can park at the door and Woollies is only a very short walk to the door.

We get rewards from IGA too. Once you earn 2,500 points, they send you a $25 voucher through the post. They don't have an expiry, so we save them up and use them all at Christmas time. I can't remember how much you spend to earn a point, but it's not much. We generally end up with around $500 a year worth of vouchers, which is not to be sneezed at.

They also have certain scenarios that can earn you extra points. One example is, if you find an item that is out of date, they give you 500 points. I often find out of date stuff at Woollies, but have only ever found 1 at IGA! I don't actively look for them though, but I've always checked dates on stuff I buy.

I check the dates on everything. There can be several dates out on the same item. Why not get the freshest.

Not found any out-of-date stuff at my Woolies yet, plenty at Coles. I knew that there was something off with Coles meat!

It took my local Woolies a while to get their cold room set right. Everything citrus used to be mouldy right out on the stands. Yuk. That was the first year or so! Never ever bought fruit there but now it's all fine.

Everything was too wet = problem.

I get spuds from Woollies because they are the only ones who sell Dutch Cream spuds, which are my absolute favourite. If I can't get them, I get spuds from IGA because theirs are good all rounders. Better for chips and baked spuds. Dutch Creams don't do real good chips, but make THE best mash!

Pumpkin, parsnips and Brussels Sprouts I get at IGA because they are nicer. I get carrots there too because they are cheaper. Other stuff like baby yellow squash, mushrooms, chokos, cauli, I'll get at Woollies. There is a Harris Farm next to Woollies and I used to go there, but their quality has gone through the floor the last few years, so I stopped going there.

I don't know if Coles still does the gas flushed meat because I stopped going there. It was the steak and chops etc that were in the deep trays with bulging plastic over the top. You had to eat it within 2 days of opening the package and you couldn't freeze it because it would cause it to go off. It was done because it lasted a lot longer on the shelf.

I'm really angry at Woollies because they stopped selling pork forequarter chops. I loved cooking them in the oven because they'd just fall to bits when you were eating them. Far better than on the BBQ or pan. The others just don't cut it in the oven. I was so angry at them, I was tempted to start a change dot org petition to bring them back! (that was sarcasm)

Many moons ago we used to do all our shopping at Eastgardens.  It was a fair way to travel but there was Coles. Woolworths, IGA, 2 fresh food markets, 3 butchers, 2 chicken shops including Lenards.  It was fantastic and the quality everywhere was good because there was so much competition.

There had been a very large Franklins for many years and when they closed down IGA went into their old shop.

We did quite well with our IGA rewards too but about 2 years ago IGA up and left and it was all downhill from there.  The nearest IGA now is a ratty little shop that always looks dirty so I never darken their doors.  There is a huge one at Taren Point but it is pretty much stand alone with not many other stores nearby....and a long way to travel.

I do very well with my Flybuys points.  Years ago I used to pay all my bills on a Coles Mastercard which gave me triple points, as well as my Father's bills and my blind next door neighbour's bills.  In those days you could get gift cards for many different shops....we bought a great haul of electrical equipment....TV, 2 Videos, pizza maker...the list goes on.  Now that the gift cards are non existent and the actual gifts are not as good I just cash the points in to do the shopping, especially at Christmas.

In the last 12 months  I have earned over $1000.
