Customer bid but now doesn't want the item

Hi All,

I am hoping people with more experience than me can give me some advice. I had an auction just end. The winning bid was placed in the last minute and 2 minutes later I received a message saying "sorry my son bid and I don't want this".

Now, I totally get that this can happen but feel it's a little odd that I got the message 2 minutes after the auction if the person had no idea that their child was bidding.

Anyway, what do I do in this situation. I have other bidders on the item and the winning bid was only $1 more than the next bid. Is there some way to cancel the bid and then send a message to the next bidder?

Thanks for the assistance

You can open a non paying bidder dispute 4 days after the auction and close 4 days later then you can make a second chance offer.

JMO but I'd wait 4 days & open a non payer dispute,wait another 4 days,close & they'll be issued with a strike.

I'd also block them right now so they can't do it again.

Your other option is to send them a Mutual Cancellation BUT if they don't agree, you'll lose your FVF

The problem with a Mutual Cancellation is they could also leave feedback.

Whichever way you choose to proceed, make sure to contact the next lowest bidder & let them know whats happening for when you send them a 2nd chance offer.
