I am very confused about DSR communication scores . This past month I have been dinged with 4 low scores . Today I called Ebays trust and safety department . The rep informed me that if a buyer asks a question or you send a buyer a message it opens an option for the buyer when leaving feedback to rate you on DSR communication . That sounds odd but she clearly told me this .
Now the big problem I have is my solution for not getting dinged on communication DSR's . I will block any potential buyer from bidding on any of my item if they ask a question . It seems the best business even though it will **bleep** off Ebay buyers . However I would rather have a buyer leave Ebay **bleep** than risk being suspended for low DSR scores .
Does anybody else have a solution ?? And please do not say write all buyers cute little note or any of that jazz since its not a 100% guarantee and my solution is .
I am looking for an alternative that is a 100% guarantee
Thank you in advance for any help on this subject

I think the whole DSR's for communication is wrong. If you say nothing and treat buyers like mushrooms you get 5 stars. If you are communicative with them you have the potential for low stars. I don't think there is any foolproof solution. I have always written a message to my buyers so I'm not about to stop now.
One buyer told me recently if she can't leave stars for comunication she marks one of the others down to 1 or 2 stars just because.

Yours isn't 100%. If they ask a question after the sale, they can still leave DSRs.
Your way, though, could well end up costing a lot of foregone sales. Maybe even more than losing TRS.

Dave you are right about about them asking a question after the auction is won . Then they could still leave me low stars . As for my TRS I could care less . I am more concerned with Ebay suspending me or kicking my off for DSR's .

Are you aware you're posting on the Australian eBay forum?
As you are in the US, and list on the US site, rather than blocking buyers who ask questions, you'd probably be better off blocking questions from buyers unless they have purchased from you.
Secondly, there is more to the auto-5 DSR rating for communication than no questions being asked by a buyer before they leave feedback. You also have to have a 0-1 day handling time, which I note you do, upload tracking to eBay within 1 business day (I couldn't tell from your listings if your items are sent with tracking), and no contact details can be requested by you or the buyer.
