Dealing with cancellations and unpaid items in 2017?

Hi All,

Long time low volume Ebay user and somehow have managed over 15 years without having any cancellations or non payments as a seller.

I'm in the process of selling a bunch of stuff at the moment and have 1 buyer requesting I cancel his accepted offer and another bidder of a high value item who has made no contact at all in the 72 hours since the auction ended (I have sent them 3 messages and an invoice in this time).

  1. The buyer who wants to cancel there order has been polite and I can't see any evidence from there account of bidding on multiple identicle items. Are there any reasons I should not cancel the order?
  2. With the second bidder it is starting to look like I have my first ever non-payment. I plan on lodging a non-payment dispute if I've heard nothing from them within 24hrs. I take it that from there I have to sit it out until the process completes before I can do a second chance offer or anything? If I do end up lodging a non-payment dispute, is there anything against the rules about me contacting the next highest bidder on my auction to let them know I have a potentenital non-payment?

Sorry for newb questions. Just never hit issues before selling on Ebay.

Dealing with cancellations and unpaid items in 2017?

1. Cancel the order but select buyer changed mind so you don't get a defect.

2. For this one open an unpaid item case as soon as you can (4 days after auction) and close it 4 days later if they don't make contact or pay. Yes you can contact underbidders to let them know the winner is not communicating and you may be sending a SCO within 4-5 days.
