Do your pictures measure up?

I just received an email from ebay with the question "Do your pictures measure up?". It goes on to say that the pictures should be at least 1600px on the longest side (recommended). Thats all fine but the problem I have is that Turbo Lister resizes and compresses pictures.

When they are loaded to TL they more than meet the requirments but when they are uploaded to ebay they are much smaller and compressed. I know this has been an issue for a very long time but just wondering how others deal with this.

.. as far as I am concerned the fact that ebay is hiding our listings via best match there is no picture big enough or perfect enough that can substitute for visibility on the website .. ebay is a disgrace and an unpalatable business partner no matter which way they want to spin it .. just don't get sucked in by their hype, this is ebays way of attempting to pin the blame for decreasing sales onto the people who it has been perpetrated against .. while you suffer this indignity of being accused of poor marketing the ebay insiders get priority in best match and are stealing sales from you ..

1600 is the recommended size, but 500 pixels (on the longest side) is actually the minimum size, so as long as the images meet the minimum requirements, you shouldn't encounter any problems.

Yes, I'm well aware of that but I load large high res photos to Turbo Lister and I would have thought that they would upload the same photos to ebay without compressing them or reducing the size. Additionally, if someone loads an image to TL that is 500px on the longest side they are likely to run into problems when it is loaded to ebay at a reduced size.

Just today I completed updating approx 50 pics across 20 listings to comply with the size requirements.

There are two auctions yet to go that I can't change yet since they have bids, But other than that I am now 100% compliant with their size requirements.

Let's see if this leads to more sales????
