Dodgy Paypal email just received.

Received this tonight - have forwarded it to Spoof@Paypal

Looks legit at first glance.  Knew I hadn't sent the money so checked my Paypal account - of course nothing there.

I've been getting that one on and off for a while, but I stopped forwarding emails to PayPal because I once accidentally sent a genuine PayPal email to the spoof address and got the "you were right, it was a phishing email" response, so figured if they can't even recognise their own as genuine emails, their spoof team are far from crack shot. :8} :^O

I have been getting these for quite some time. They go straight to my Spam folder. In fact I have one now which I have just permanently deleted

Yes you're right patchoo - it wasn't in my gmail account - just in Windows Live which I use also, aminly for non ebay emails..  Guess that's why I haven't noticed it before.

I never leave that much in my Paypal account so know it couldn't be correct :-x

Also when you send to junk, copy and paste the email addy into blocked list at the bottom of junk page. Some email providers have it.

Julie, this thread is one year old so you can see that these emails are not new at all.

And DO NOT rely on what you were told about the fake emails not addressing you by your full name....these days they are so good that they often do have your full name.

Just remember not to click on any links in emils and you will not come to too much harm.
