no one forced ebay to introduce $1 FVF, they did that on their own, and continured to make that offer month after month after month.
so we bacame used to it as 'normal'
of course taking that offer away and going directly back to the high FVFs was going to cause a reaction.
my only cause of action was raise my prices and stick to the 40 items per month or relist at the "new" rate everything and raise prices to cover the increase.
right now i'm just going to wait and see what ebay does next.
lucky for me this IS just a hobby, i dont need to sell anything

I also posted on another thread about the removal of the $1 weekends that when I was young I was warned that drug dealers would offer teens free drugs. Then, when the teens were hooked on drugs they would have to start paying.
Members thinking of the offer as “normal” is akin to being given something for nothing until they are hooked, now some are suffering withdrawal symptoms.
The fact that the $1 fvf always appeared as an “offer” is the telltale sign that it was never “normal”.

yes as everyone else has said no-one knows.......... although I am wondering if they will do something before the end of financial year - which is rapidly approaching...like this weekend....?

i GOT sorry caps lock off now, limited to 10 of those - a one off offer unless it repeats this weekend...I wonder why?

No, you would be relisting at the "old" rate. The same rate those that didn't have access to the promotion were paying, and what you were paying before the promo started. I was one of the lucky ones who had access to it. There were plenty that didn't, so consider yourself lucky that you got it for as long as you did. It wasn't just store holders who missed out, there were plenty of non store people who missed out too. Life just goes on as normal for them. Nothing has changed.
Why would you increase your price now? Did you consider increasing your prices before the promo started? I set my prices to include the full FVF and have done since I started selling. That meant that while the promo was running, I was getting extra money. Now the promo has finished, the buyers are still paying for my FVF's, but I'm earning that few $$ less. I'm still earning on average 1000% profit on my items. There are some I break even on, but most, I do quite well. Promo or no promo.

i'm just not prepared to sell at the fvf ebay has set now
i may relist a few items but i will raise the prices to cover the increase in fvf
as i said in another thread, im happy to pay reasonable fvf's but going from $1 to where they are now, nope.
maybe if enough sellers do the same ebay will rethink the removal of the offer.
double the old offer to $2
tripple it to $3
i'd accept that
I know that it's nice to have a low fee. For those who sold on eBay during the time that the promotion ran, and who had access to that promotion, that would have given you the equivalent of a bonus. It's like going over to your Aunt Mavis's house for tea, when one day she barks at you mid-nibble of a chocolate-covered Hobnob, "Let your old aunt give you a little something. Spend it on your bills or give yourself a treat; I don't care what. Here we go!" and she slips you a $50 note.
The next time you drop by Aunt Mavis's house and enjoy a cup of tea with a Hobnob, you might be hoping that Aunt Mavis gives you another $50 note. Perhaps she will; perhaps she won't. Perhaps she can't. Let's imagine that her stocks and bonds are doing well, and that she's rather fond of you; in that case, she might very well hand you another $50. Imagine that she does this every fortnight for a year. You'd probably subconsciously grow to expect that extra $50, and you might even budget with the extra $50 in mind... but you should realise that Aunt Mavis has no obligation to provide you with endless $50 notes. One day - for whatever reason it may be - she might not slip you a $50 note. What can you do? Would you stand there, dunked Hobnob in hand, saying, "Aunt Mavis, what about my $50?"
No. You simply have to think of all of those gifts of $50 as just that - gifts. There was no contract, and no guarantee that Aunt Mavis could continue to hand over the extra money to you. If the day comes when Aunt Mavis's purse stays closed, you must simply take that on board and be thankful that she gave you money while she was able to or felt willing to do so.
For whatever reason it may be, eBay's offer is no longer on the table. If you're not able to list items with the FVF as per the Selling fees page (or rather, not able to make a profit with the normal FVF), then I would suppose eBay isn't the right selling venue for the items in question. You should not feel forced to sell if that leaves you out of pocket, so other selling venues or methods would be more suitable for you.
On the other hand, if other selling venues or methods just don't cut it, but selling on eBay will STILL leave you with a profit (albeit a more modest one), perhaps it's still worth selling on eBay. You'll know your own situation best by doing the calculations.
Just make sure that you don't count on a $2 or $3 maximum FVF in doing those calculations. Do you already have the link to the eBay fee calculator? (https://www.fees.ebay.com.au/feeweb/feecalculator) Bookmark it if you haven't already done so.
