I had the same question and contacted ebay through Live Help. A solution wasn't forthcoming so I sent a suggestion to ebay asking them to include a Pickup option in Checkout. This evening I had a buyer who collected an item from me (I had sent an invoice with Local Pickup as the postage option) and noticed there's now an option under 'Mark as Payment received' to check the Paid on Collection button. Good luck!

Hi staffy,
Just revise the invoice to zero for p&h and send it. (Explain to the buyer why you have to do it).
It's a new easy trap since their commission grab on p&h.

Sending the invoice makes no difference.
No you will not be charged anything by marking as posted.
You only get charged if you click on Print postage label.
You will still be charged a % for the postage cost that was shown in the listing if there was one.

Sparklz - that is actually incorrect.
If the seller sends a revised invoice showing 0 as the postage cost then no FVF is charged on the postage amount regardless of what it shows in the original listing.
FVF's are calcuted on what is on the invoice - not what is in the listing.

Interestingly enough, eBay doesn't seem to know what to do/charge if the buyer never checks out, which happens often with pick-ups.
I have one regular buyer that uses the mobile app to buy, and bank deposit to pay - the mobile app prevents checkout (they usually purchase several items and want combined postage, but that doesn't work on the app even if I send a new invoice), they also told me they can't mark the payment as sent, but are able to pay because they already have my bank details.
Last time that happened, I presumed I'd be charged FVF as soon as I marked the payment as received - still waiting for that FVF to appear...

DG - that is what appears to happen. If the buyer doesn't go through checkout no FVF is charged on the postage.
