Does anyone actually bother doing those survey questionnaires. Ebay could not care less.

Has anyone actually bothered to respond to those dumb questionairres you get after wasting your time speaking on the phone to Ebay? We all know they never get read and any issues or complaints are never responded to or fixed. A seller on Ebay ranks just above the the stuff being pumped through our sewage pipes by their staff

I used to quite frequently. In the beginning, I wrote carefully thought out-responses, where appropriate, and consistently remained 50-50 on the "would you recommend eBay to others to sell?" question (my reasoning was that a couple of years ago, there were certain types of items I wouldn't hesitate to use eBay for, nor recommend others use eBay for, and other categories where I would either not recommend eBay, or only after someone was clued in on some important information).

I also consistently highlighted issues with the help pages, hoping that one day they might make it a cohesive, easy to navigate collection of important, relevant and useful information, instead of the messy maze it was/is, with tons of dead ends, maddening loops and the occasional bottomless pit...

I don't bother (answering surveys) anymore, it's a lost cause, and I can still hear David Bowie if I so much as hover over "Help & Contact". I no longer recommend eBay to others, either. In fact, when anyone asks me about it, the first thing I tell them are all the potential risks they face as a seller - I am honest, if but biased, in that I also mention (depending on what it is) they'll probably sell it faster and for a better price, and I make it clear it's a small chance they'll encounter one of the bigger risks, but a chance none the less, and so far, 100% of the people who were interested in selling on ebay have gone elsewhere after I provided that info.

joe, I must be mistaken when I recall that when it was pointed out to YOU that YOU had posted information by way of courier connote numbers on the boards that could identify your customer by name, address, phone number and signature YOU posted that no such information could be viewed unless someone hacked into the system, and that hacking would be illegal.

Maybe my memory is wrong and you didn't post the connote numbers and we couldn't view the information.  I'll go back and check, but apologise to you in advance for my mistake and being wrong.

edit: Oh wait, it turns out that I wasn't wrong after all.  Joe did post connote numbers and asked members to check the tracking, and there at the bottom of the tracking page there was a graphic that showed his customer's personal private details including name, address, phone number and signature, as well as the sender details.

He then posted that there were no details on the tracking.  Joe, you were wrong!   Found some screengrabs to show this.

and the graphic, with private information blocked, looked like this

If you keep posting the error that the original poster made, I am going to report you for spamming the boards.

Let go of happenings in another thread - this is an internet discussion board, not a kangaroo court as much as some seem to think it is.

spamming?  joe repeatedly posted that he has never been wrong, and I replied with one post refuting this with evidence.  Hardly spamming IMO.
