Ebay is withholding my money

Ebay is refusing to give me my money. Since forcing me to be 'payment managed' through them instead of Paypal, they are demanding my photo identification. My ebay account has had an excellent rating since 2008.  I have provided all of my sensitive information to them except my actual photo. This is not enough for them. They want it all. Enough for any identity theft to be very easy if the opportunity presents. It is bad enough that they withhold our payments from sales for 30 days (resulting in us having to pay our own expenses for postage to buyers) but now they are refusing to give me my money completely! They have also barred my account so I can no longer sell anything. This has made me feel so sick I will no longer be purchasing from Ebay either. Where in Australia can we get LEGAL ASSISTANCE to help us get OUR money that EBAY is withholding?

Why don't you just put your DL in, get your funds and then close your account?

Did you never provide your ID details to Paypal at some point? I know I had to send them all my photographic ID etc, some years ago. This is the same thing.

okay, you have been told a number of times what you need to do to get your money.

No point in framing it in different ways to try to get an answer other than "give your details and they will give you your money".

You have used the words “demanding, refusing, barred, forcing, scammed, illegally, withholding, stealing, blackmailing” in your posts.  I realise that, for you, this is extremely upsetting, distressing, and is making you sick . . . but it doesn’t have to be this way.  Just give them the information that they are legally obliged to collect about you under Australian Law in order that you access your funds and continue to sell on eBay.

After getting your funds, send eBay a request to delete all the identifying information they have about you as you will not be selling any more and will be cancelling your eBay account when you are able to (there is a waiting period to cancel).
