"The maximmum weight for AusPost Air Mail Parcel is 2 kg. Please select a different service."
That is the message I received from Ebay when relisting an item (typo included). It must be a glitch but customer service tells me that Australia Post won't accept parcels to be sent by air that weigh more than 2kg. Their solution is to use another postal service...

Australia Post recently changed their International Postage and ebay have probably not updated the new postage options on the site.
Airmail is no longer a service offered. There is economy air - for parcels with a maximum weight of 2kg and standard which can be used for parcels over 2kg. (as well as the express services)
Both economy and standard services are sent by airmail but they now have different names.

Meant to add that you can get around this by using flat rate postage instead of calculated postage as with flat rate postage you don't need to enter the weight.
When using flat rate postage you can add up to 5 different rates by choosing custom location.

They should have all Auspost services pulled from AusPost using API but they probably just hardcoded them which is just wrong practise for any software development. That is why they telling you to do a lot of work and change them manually. They screwed you and you have to waste your time now.
It seems that ebay is being programmed by kids. A lot of errors, some are ctritical and stay unfixed for ages.
The resent one where they have changed email format for an email when a seller has sold someting. Try to click on a link for sending an invoice to a buyer from that email. This throws an error on ebay website and you cannot access a page for changing an invoice using that link.
No testing has been done before rolling this out, nobody on ebay even cares to fix it now. I don't even care to report that error with bad link in their email.
I have reported about another error which is critical because it involves payments. I have called them at least 4 times about it in the last two years. Everytime they are telling me they will fix it but nothing has been done for two years.

The entire "Add postage details" section of "Create your listing" needs a major overhaul but in my dealings with eBay I can't seem to get this through to them. They offer Australia Post options that haven't been available for over 2 year. Extra Cover doesn't make an appearance anywhere. The fact they were not ready to implement the new International postage options when they started over a week ago is no surprise. The fact they take a cut of the S&H fee also just rubs salt into the wound.
Rant over.
