What is wrong with eBay that it allows people who are obviously selling fake silver to be selling fake silver?
So many people selling fake silver coins the company has lost credibility.
Poor business model on eBay's part.

You will need to take it up with eBay and the buyers who choose to support such dodgy sellers by buying
Members here are not responsible for what eBay does/doesn't do, nor other seller's actions, nor other buyers buying choices
eBay has never had staff to go and inspect silver (or anything else) to see if it is genuine or not
Nor would they have any idea what they are even looking at/for
Nor do eBay vet listings
You say it is obvious
So then why are buyers continuing to buy?

Unfortunately eBay acts as a platform rather than as a distributor.
One might take some issue with thisโฆ eBayโs role in actually receiving and disbursing the payments changes the dynamic, in my opinion, but as it stands, legally eBay doesnโt bear responsibility for the items listed.
However, eBay do give a Money Back Guarantee subject to certain terms and conditions. Thatโs strong protection.

The question could be asked how do sellers sell numerous items but then one can't find feedback from buyers for literally hundreds of sales.
Of course it is obvious it is fake when a seller can walk into, or mail to, their nearest bullion broker and get significantly more than their asking price.
Take this listing for example:
SOLD 277 of these but has just 2 feedbacks for them
And if it is real then this seller is literally giving up over $30 per coin compared to what is a standard rate with a broker. 277 sold - The seller is over $8000 worse off than just ringing up a broker and arranging to send it all to them.
There are loads of these listings.
Either the sellers are absolutely mentally defective or this is not real 99.99 silver.
It just erodes the integrity of the platform that it allows the gullible to be preyed on.

You're probably right but at a guess, a lot of ebay buyers don't check out bullion brokers.
They wouldn't have a clue. They take the ads at face value.
Ebay has a fair bit of 'fake' stuff for sale, especially from China.
It does (in my eyes) erode a bit of confidence in ebay, to the extent I think all buyers should be very wary what they buy on ebay and who they buy it from. Ebay could do more.

Did you actually look at the link you added.
If not - have a good look - this is not advertised as 99.99 silver - it is in fact - silver plated.
Admittedly this is totally misleading.
