First time ever seller and I want to get it right from the get go

Hi all, so I only just got into the online shopping world and it took me a month or so of buying to learn how it all works but now i'm looking to start selling some stuff but i have no clue how to do this.

So could someone give me a walkthrough on how you sell something on ebay properly (listing items, payment methods and postage). I literally have no idea so I can be moulded into the perfect ebay seller if everyone helps me and who knows maybe you'll end up seeing something you like on my page someday. Thanking anyone for any input you have on this matter

Zoe, as suggested read up on selling.

Also start with 2-5 items and list them for maybe 3 days, then if some sell, it's a good way to get to know the basics before you get flustered with many.

Always list with a starting price you are happy with so if you only get one bid, it's happily sold.

If you make a mistake in the listing, you can go back and revise if there are no bids.

Make sure to get the postage cost correct as you can lose the profit if not and start with selling in Oz only first.

Make sure you upgrade your PayPal account to Premier as you can't accept payments with a Personal account.

Happy ebaying.

I'm not trying to discourage you there but I have been working long & hard for many years now on ebay. There is a great deal to learn in becoming successful at selling.  Enjoy the worthwhile experience though. It's funny thing too because I don't think anyone can really explain in just a few lines how to do it either. It would probably take a book on my part. Anyone else feel the same?? I thing I can advise - DON'T GIVE UP.

Your right mina, there can definitely be some hurdles with non-paying bidders, INAD cases, lost postal articles, glitches etc., requiring patience, learning and perseverance.

So yes, not giving up is good advice. Once the procedures are learnt for the different scenarios that can happen, the ebay/PayPal system is very good.

For anyone starting selling, don't hesitate to ask here or in the member answer centre for advice.

Do your homework and spend time getting to know the system too many people here are opinionated, conceited and self righteous. You also have live chat to talk you through stuff, from my experience stay away from advice given by other buyers and sellers because they are usually in direct contradiction to ebays rules and regs.

garvoc, Some time ago, I politely explained to you the other member has a saying as a signature. You took it personally last time and appear to still not understand what a signature is.

This link should clarify it and you can even have one yourself. Either a saying or a logo.

As for other members USUALLY being in contradiction to ebay rules, such utter rubbish. There may be the occasional members that give not so correct advice, myself included as I am constantly learning. However, even they have good intentions and are quickly corrected by long standing members.

Your comments may not be directed at me, yet I find them offensive and unfounded. Perhaps you should listen to your own words, and not be so opinionated. If you cannot be positive, maybe best not to say anything.
