Freight company's AMAZINGLY POOR Sservice

Just thought I should share an experience with a company who has previously offered Ebay seller their services.  I should also point out, until this last delivery, I had only had 'minor' issues.  This company, e-go.com.au, have really dropped the ball on customer service.  Problems in order were;

Driver didn't ring entry bell.

Driver didn't follow delivery instructions to call if no answer.

Driver left a hand written note on a scrap of papper.

Paid for re-delivery which was never attempted.

Customer made 7 attempts to call company and ended up driving 25kl one-way to pick up item

(RRP $1250.00)

When complaint listed with company explaining the above & requesting a delivery charge refund, they told me NO and when could they attempt a 2nd delivery????  WT*?  The customer had already picked it up!!

Not sure if this company has changed hands but their service in all regards in down the toilet!

Be aware and be careful if you intend or do use them.

PS  The delivery only had to go some 60 odd kl's!!

You read the review online and alot of people complain about e-go. I used them once and wasn't too happy

I use http://www.transdirect.com.au/  instead. They've been great and no complaints so far

I haven't had an experience with this company, but I had awful experiences with another courier:

1- about year ago went something like this - I was notified the item will be delivered Wednesday, but would not even say afternoon or morning.  I waited whole day , nothing.  Looked at the tracking site and it was scheduled, again for delivery next day.  I waited all day and nothing.  Called the depot and was told that the driver tried to deliver at 11.35am and carded it.  That was a total lie, there was no card and in that time we were all in the front of the house, loading my daughter's car from about 11.15 - 12 midday.  Finally, the item was deliver the 3rd day and the driver was quite abusive for getting him into trouble.

2 - Item was scheduled for delivery on Thursday, again I waited the whole day, nothing, no card.  Friday there was no entry for anything happening, Monday the same.  Nevertheless the same driver did arrive Monday, when I asked how come that he had the item since Wednesday, it was scheduled to be delivered  Thursday, and it is only just being delivered 3 days late.  He said, that he decided to take few days off.

The options for having courier deliveries are:

a - to be willing stay home for as long as it takes to get the item

b - be willing to drive fair distance to the depot

c - agree to absolve the couriers of any responsibility if the parcel gets taken from my porch, and I assume once it is left they are also not responsible if the item is damaged.

That is why I will not bid on anything that is being sent by courier, unless it is too big for AP and worth the hassle.

I just did a quick quote there out of curiosity, from a 2 postcode to a 4 postcode. 3kg measuring 40x20x18 - result was $37.

That's expensive!

Normally there are a few courier that you can choose with your quote. I always use TOLL as the option as they are the cheapest and some others are $10-30 more expensive!

The results showed me around 3 or 4 companies. Toll was around $10 cheaper than the others, but could only go business to business, or residential to business etc. That doesn't always work so the next option would have to suffice for most customers.

I personally didn't find them affordable.

BUT in saying that, the last courier company I used, got me a neutral feedback so you most probably get what you pay for 🙂

OP, sorry for hijacking your thread. I didn't mean to completely disregard your post and go on with my own drivel.

The company you mention will be one that will go on my "no go" list.

This is bit off the subject, but relevant to the sellers who want to send with couriers.  i have recently spoken to a friend,  their company has banned people having their on line purchases delivered to work.  Apparently the reception has been having to cope with ever increasing number of personal parcels and distributing them to the appropriate departments that the management decided enough is enough, and they are not willing to pay staff to deal with it.

I'm sure eBay members have access to Temando, which is a freight broker, and gives attractive rates to members. There is a choice of courier.

I don't use couriers, because of the potential delivery issues, but Temando seems to be the go.
