Occassionally I will go into one of my listings.
I always use a 'counter' - the meter that shows you how many viewers you have had to the listing.
I notice sometimes when I go into one the Page Views area is blank......that is the counter in the top section of the listing...above the gallery photo there is a panel with
Listing info
Page views: 23 -
High bidder ID: etc.
When I first list & for a day after the number of viewers always appears, about 2 & 3 & 4 days in there is no sign of the Page Views number.......it appears at the base of the listing, but not the top.
I wonder if this is because it is not actually readily available without using specific search terms. You know, in black out mode or limbo or something similar.
If I refresh the page whilst in the listing the number appears. If I go back out, search for it using 2 or 3 words from the title it appears, but when I go into the listing the 2nd time the PAGE VIEWS at the top of the page is blank again.
Just wondered if i am the only one experiencing/noticing this.
By the way did you see current affair tonight ? There is going to be a LOT OF BUYERS spending their money in a frenzy for the next 24 hours or so ... & I would say it will be ongoing...& it isn't ebay !!

No, never watch that carp..... can you enlighten us WHY there will be frenzy????? Should I stop mess around and list all the stuff in the heap in my bedroom?
Yes, the counter on the top is often blank, but it always works down there.

Yes it happens all the time here. But i don't worry about it. What concerns me more is that some of my descriptions in my unsold items have disappeared this morning. Seems like some catastrophic event has occurred with a server somewhere along the line crashing. Might be a plot by Julia to run down the current system so she can earn some brownie points by saving us all with the NBN.

I actually have noticed this, but never really gave it any thought - just figured it was another of eBay's idiosyncrasies.
Re: the online shopping frenzy; I read about that elsewehere and it's a 24 hour sale that starts 7pm on Tuesday, 20th November, fashioned after a very popular, similar US event. You have to register to take part, and many of the most well known B&M department stores are (apparently) offering items up to 90% off RRP - no idea what kind of items will be on offer though (eg old stock, last season's winter gear etc ? ).
I don't think I can name the site, but you can read about it here: http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/technology/cyber-sale-to-click-with-shoppers/story-fn7cejkh-1226516499518

yes, I have noticed that. I have a theory that when there is no counter visible, my items are not showing to sellers, I have no evidence of this whatsoever 🙂

Yes I have noticed this also.
This happens very frequently - not sure why?
Re the shopping frenzy, looked into registering our website to participate. Quite expensive and obviously for big players eg Target, Harvey Norman but they did say they want all size B & M retailers to participate.
I don't think we could afford to offer better prices than we already are anyway 20 - 90% off? We'd go broke!!

Silly question maybe...
But does one pay a fee for using the counter in their listings?

No. Only features like adding buy it now to a listing with a starting bid cost extra.

I thought you mean eBay will be offering some incentive to buy here LOL 😞
