Hi all
Just wanted to know if any members had actually gone through the Ebay defamation process and do Ebay sellers find that policies at times seem different depending on which customer service representative you speak to.

Little more information?

It is no secret that the information can be different depending on who you speak to.
You can actually get more accurate information from experienced ebayers on the boards.
As for the defamation process...it depends on what you want to achieve. Again, ask on the boards...someone will be able to tell you if you are likely to be successful.

I am guessing you are upset about the negative feedback you have received?
It is unlikely to be removed unless you can definitely prove it is wrong as it is just the buyers opinion of the transaction.

Given that you've keyword spammed & mislead people, its actually YOU who could be in more trouble than any buyer ie they could open a Paypal not as described dispute & report you to ebay.
I would also strongly suggest you read up on ebay policies re what you can & can't list as I can see at least 2 items of yours that are NOT allowed to be sold on ebay.

An absolute defence against defamation is the truth so if the vase was not Murano you had absolutely no business putting that in the title and adding a question mark does not make it acceptable.
If I were you I would leave a follow up with a HUGE apology, that may lessen the impact of the neg but it sounds to me it may have been well deserved, were you in fact rude to the buyer when they complained or did you offer them an refund and the cost of return postage?

So phorum_junkie you know absolutely that the seller threatened the buyer and is a nasty person?? The buyer has alleged that you are "nasty, threatening" in the eBay world (which is not the real world) this should be sufficient for you to get eBay to remove it, as I am sure that you feel that your good reputation has been damaged and your business harmed. You don't have to show proof that its actually caused harm.

If you wee nasty and threatening then the neg should stay. 😞
If not, then appeal to eBay to get it removed, and use the messages between yourself and the buyer as proof that they are infact telling lie's about you. Whether the listing was right or wrong, or the experience for the buyer was not positive, O don;t believe anyone has the right to lie about someone's character. 😮

OMG - spelling mistakes, sorry - can't be bothered fixing :_|

Unfortunately for some, feedback is the buyers opinion. They are allowed to post their experience or opinion.
In the buyers opinion, the seller is nasty and threatening. What one finds nasty and threatening, may not be what another finds nasty and threatening. Your chances for removal are not very good.:-(
Respond with the truth in your follow up comment. Buyers will see what sort of seller you are. 🙂
