As a seller I am finding that the way eBay has now structured the use of feedback it is now near impossible to post a negative feedback for a buyer who has not paid. I have just experienced this. I attempted on numerous occasions to contact the buyer even offering an extension to payment time but to no avail. I then opened a case. After a few days I heard nothing from eBay or the buyer so opted to get the a credit for the selling valuation fee. I then went to place negative feedback for the buyer and it seems as though you are not permitted to do that! The more time goes buy the more eBay allows buyers to get away with not paying for the items they purchase!

It has been a fair few years since sellers were able to leave negative feedback for buyers. eBay abolished it because a few sellers were using it in a retaliatory manner. The NPB system is effective if used correctly. You should ALWAYS follow the process all the way through, then the buyer receives a strike, two strikes and they will find the number of sellers with whom they can deal is severely limited. Sellers can and should set their blocks to exclude buyers with two or more strikes, then you will find you have far less NPBs and no need to think about leaving negative feedback.
Also, I would not recommend leaving a positive with a negative comment, the buyer can appeal and eBay will remove the comment, but the buyer gets to keep the feedback points. The seller may also find themselves with a policy violation.

It is not near impossible to leave negative feedback for a buyer.....it is completely impossible as ebay stopped that many years ago as Penny said.
As well as that....as you have issued the buyer with a strike neither of you can leave any feedback now so you are safe from an irate buyer leaving you any negative feedback.

It has been years since sellers could leave negative, or even neutral feedback for buyers. The best thing to do is go through the non-paying buyer process to get your fees back and then Ebay put a strike on their record for non-payment. Most sellers have blocks in place against buyers with strikes for non-payment and this is more effective than feedback - reasonably often I get pleading messages from buyers who have tried to buy from me and found themselves blocked (always with excuses or claiming it's eBay's mistake!).
You can also block people with low feedback scores or who haven't been phone verified by eBay as well as individuals on your own Blocked Buyer list.
Cheers,
Marina.

Best part is buyers can leave u negs for anything they feel like.
Lately have noticed getting more demanding in shipping n delivery times.
Ignoring listing posting n delivery time frames etc.
Threatening with neg feedback for not meeting their needs n demands
or expectations despite what u have in ur listings.
