I am only doing the computer stuff ie database but they want to know if it is possible to check how many of one item were listed in a period of time and how many of those listed were sold and the price range for those sales
EG How many green cardigans were listed in the last 3 months, were they all new lsitings or some relists, how many of those green cardigans actually sold, and for what prices did they sell?
I'm thinking that sort of information is not something that would be available to those using ebay to sell their products but will ask anyway and happy to be proven wrong.

I don't know how Selling Manager works but all I do is look at my sold items.

Well it may not help but I haven't sold any green cardigans in the last three months, I did sell the green monstrosity though but I wouldn't advise anyone opening an ebay business on that fact :^O
I would think the nearest you could get would be to search for green cardigans and then choose completed items.
You would haver to look through each individual BIN to see if there had been multiple sales of the same thing.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

I think that is only an example PJ. You may as well suggest that bump looks for cerise cardigans. ๐

As far as I know, the only way to access data like that is to gather it yourself, and it would take some work and concentrated organisational skills, depending on the volume of listings, plus frequency the item in question is listed, as well as how long a period you wanted the data to reflect.
Currently, the only option available is current listings, in which case you have to sort through single quantity and multiple quantity, then check the sales history on active multi-quantity, then do the same with completed listings, which only goes back as far as 2 weeks.

Oh, and I think the only way now to know for sure when an item was listed (especially good-til-cancelled BINs) is by adding it to your watch list and customising the options to show start date.

in my experience, it doesn't really matter how many green cardigans were listed / sold or unsold... the only thing to worry about is if YOU can sell a green cardigan.
I've sold items, and when I checked there were 3-4-6 others the same (books/ patterns/ plates) but mine sold and others didnt some months, and vice versa the next month!!

Ebay would have the information but I doubt very much that they would share it with anyone and from the replies I think that might be right.
Oh well, I have asked and been answered so thank you.
