Hello to all,
I have been an eBay member for years, and used to occasionally sell a long time ago but it was only ever things I had around the house so it was very sporadic.
I'm trying to get back into it, but with actual specific items now and am wondering if anyone has a couple of minutes to check out my listings (just the jewellery, as the others are just "one offs") and tell me if they are okay.
Have I forgotten anything, are the photo's clear enough, is the description okay? Be as honest as you like. I truly do want the brutal truth.
Thanks so much advance.

Everything looks great.
There is one thing I don't like with any seller of jewellery and it is a personal preference only and that is when items are sold in sets. I would never wear a pendant but would wear a ring if the correct size. So I prefer items to be listed seperately.
Too often I have looked at sets and the ring wouldn't be big enough but I might want the earrings and never the necklace or pendant.
Maybe I am the only one here who doesn't like sets of jewellery.

By the way, is that a pig or a dog in your avatar?

Thanks for honest feedback i-one-was-bump!
You know what? I agree! I don't really like sets either. That's why I have only a few for those people who do. Outside of eBay, any ring can be re sized but that would be a nightmare in this environment.
I did think about mentioning if anyone was interested in one or the other, to message me and I'd make a decision whether to separate the set but I'm not convinced that's a good idea as the sets get a lot of lookers and they sell very well outside of eBay. (I sold two sets yesterday actually).
It's definitely food for thought.
I really appreciate your comments.
(And it's a dog LOL. It does look like a pig now I look at it! Riley would be pleased hehe

A lot of sellers of fine jewellery offer a resize service on rings....I find it very handy and go back to these sellers regularly.
I also do not particularly like sets, but I do like to be able to buy each part of a set as a separate item. Some clothes do not need a pendant/necklace but do need earrings or a ring or a bracelet. A lot of sellers will list each item individually but mention in the listing that there are matching pieces listed separately.

If I were to offer re-sizing, how would that work?
I am not allowed to request payment beforehand, am I? Can I charge more for the re-sizing, since it takes time and materials?
If I am not allowed to insist they pay first, what if I re-size, and they don't pay?

be very careful how you word this as it could be reported to eBay as 'off ebay' transaction and get you a violation on your seller a/c

Buying a set would not phase me if the price was right. I like pendants and rings but am not much for ear rings, those I would/could gift to someone else, or sell the pieces I don't require myself.

In regards to the sets ...Would this wording be within guidelines?
"If you would like to purchase only part of this set, please contact us via the eBay message system and we can create a new buy-it-now listing for you. Please note: We'll require immediate payment via PayPal for this transaction. The listing will remain "live" and available for others to purchase until you've made your payment."

For some of my listings, I am able to replicate individual pieces to various sizes, so I use variant listings (eg 4 bracelets at 4 different length choices, however I would be able to supply 4 if someone came along and bought all the different lengths).
For one-of-a-kind stuff, I just let people know that customisations are possible, and to please contact me to discuss options for a custom listing (discuss options here means talk about what I can do, how long it will take and how much it will cost). If people decide to go ahead with a customisation, I end the current listing, make the changes, then relist with all the new pics and specs.

PS You could request payment in advance, you would simply need to create a custom listing before doing the work.
