Hi All
I have just acquired 2 Bottles of Port. I would love to drink them but I think they maybe worth something to collectors. 1 is a Hallett's Centenary Of The Great Eastern Steeple Chase 1876 - 1976 Bottled by St Hallett's Wines Tanunda Barossa Valley With a number F71 and contains 738 ml. The 2nd Is Fine Old Liqueur Port Penfold's Grandfather Port and signed J Penfold Hyland Bottled by Penfold's Wines Pty Ltd Sydney & Adelaide Contents 750 ml. I know I need a Liquor licence to sell these on eBay which I don't have. Can I list in collectibles that the contents are not consumable? Both Bottles are unopened.
Thank You

No, only if the bottles were empty.
You could try a trading assistant that has a liquor licence.

Hi,
Nope you have to have a liqour licence to sell them, i have applied a few times and in Victoria its a temporary licence you apply for and from memory its $55.00 for a 6 week licence, hope that helps 🙂

I would recommend you contact an Auction House specialising in selling liquor in your state, to find out what they may be worth.
I had a 5 litre bottle of red which took a while to sell - but I did make good money out of it, even after commission of 16.5% (which equates to approximately the overall take by eBay and PayPal.)
You also don't have the worry about listing, posting, etc. They take care of the lot.
And you don't have to worry about a liquor licence either.
