I'm really keen to learn from those that are very experienced. I have heard alot about being shut down or suspended and I want to know if it is worth it?
I would like to sell items that we make and maybe buy some items to sell.
Kind Regards,
B

Have you sold anything before? That would be my question?
My suggestions would be to research your product ;-
Search for similar things on eBay, to see what prices etc they go for.
Research the postage costs - most important as if they are heavy products they will be very expensive.
Read the "site map" for costs to list, fees to pay on paypal as well as eBay. Then fees for the same when you sell.

for your first few mnths of trading you will have $ and number of item restrictions on your new Seller account (Seller Limits)
so, to open a Store and pay store fees with a low Seller limit is not a good way to start
start out by trying one or two items for sale... see how they are received by the buyers, calculate your costs, (time and $-wise) rememberng that the overall commission with ebay item fees, ebay postage commission fees and paypal fees is approx 15% generally.
after you build up a profile, get good feedback and work out your initial pre-tax profits you shouldbe in a better posititon to judge if ebay is for you or not.
are there mny other sellers on ebay selling similar items? do they sell a good percentage of what they list? could you beat or match their selling and postage costs?
