Which you be aware of given how long you have been on eBay

I really don't think Ebay is the place for you.

In your other thread you couldn't understand the difference between auction and BIN and now you don't know why you get a payout figure less than the selling price?

Hello..........fees!

Do you think selling here is free?

Please, for the love of heaven, go and read the selling guide!

And you can look in your seller hub under Payments/All Transactions and then click on the sale and it will tell you exactly what that deduction was for.

You've been on ebay for about 15 years and you've sold at least 49 items in that time, possibly more, as not all buyers give feedback.

Admittedly you have only sold one thing in the last year, but in the past, didn't you ever notice you had to pay fees?

Back when we sold, it was the first thing we noticed as we paid monthly fees and they soon added up.

The fees aren't a secret, look up the help guides and they are clearly set out.

Yes, fees are nothing new. Ebay won't let sellers use their platform for free. I am not a seller, but from what I've heard that have just gone up a lot over the years, and if you sell a relatively expensive item they will be higher than if you sell a cheap item of course.

They have NOT gone up a lot.  Unless a buyer was mug enough to pay by Bank Deposit, the fees have been pretty flatline for the last decade. Except that a decade ago a seller would have had to pay listing fees.

As you said, you're not a seller.

@jllgbf,

Were you asking about the payment amount without realising that you now arenโ€™t required to pay the eBay fees separately?

Under Managed Payments, sellers are now given their payments less the appropriate fees. You have no more to pay. It may seem to you that youโ€™re out by a larger amount, but that is purely a misperception because you are used to receiving the full amount and then later paying your eBay fees (and the PayPal fees separately).

Soโ€ฆ you are not worse off and youโ€™re not charged more.

The other posters here are telling you that you really need to read up on the changes in selling here in eBay. Have you looked through the eBay Help pages? And when eBay sends you emails about updates and changes, do you read them?

I would urge you to read through the information on eBay about Managed Payments. Ask on these boards before you run into a problemโ€ฆ and try to keep up with eBayโ€™s changes. If you need help, you will be able to get it here โ€” just understand that if you donโ€™t read up on the basic selling policies on the Help pages, other posters may well feel exasperated.

Iโ€™m not a seller but Iโ€™ve made myself aware of the changes here. Selling on eBay now is very different to selling on eBay five years ago.

Good luck with future sales (and happy reading).

Hey mate, eBay sends me a monthly statement but I think you can view your current incomplete statement maybe.  If you can find it in your account area then it may provide a breakdown of the fees on that sale.  Remember that it is at least 10% of the item amount AND the shipping amount, from memory.

So if you sold an item for $300 then eBay take a $30 fee for the item.  It may be higher for specific categories.  The extra $14 you're missing implies an extra fee somewhere (did you add any non-free features onto the listing?) and of course 10% from the shipping amount.  I doubt your shipping amount was $140.

I think there's also higher fees for people with bad history / feedback?

Thanks, padi.  Wow, I forgot all about the latest numbers.

No wonder so many people are pee'd off around here.
