Since Ebay have changed the ability to search bidding history & the new return system I have had so many buyers emailing me with a pack of lies.
One emailed saying the N64 console they bought had a problem & wanted a part refund - big story how they spent their hard earned money for the kids & now they can't play etc etc.
I used the online Ebay bidder history tool & found they had bought 4 other N64 consoles in the last month.
Today a radio apparently has a problem with shortwave - they bought it just for their dad to listen to - hinting at part refund.
Check their bidder history & bought 3 others this month.
Everyone wants a part refund but couldn't be bothered returning it.
So many stories now that they think I can't see what they are buying - how about just telling the truth.

My 3 pet hates are liars, cheats & thieves and these scum are all 3 rolled into 1 !!
I've been lucky so far (touch wood !) have had 2 lie, but one idiot brought herself undone - tried claiming she hadn't received the item, then after I'd sent photos of the Registered International documentation, she sent a photo of the VAT/Customs docket complaining how much she had to pay !!!
The other one, claimed not received, I sent a photo of the PO receipt and her stamped address on my mailing list for the day & never heard another word (it wasn't sent registered so I was prepared to replace it (very reluctantly as she was a particularly rude piece), but I must have called her bluff - sometimes that's all it takes, but I am always sickly polite about it, even though I'm sure they're lying - the thing about liars, you can usually catch them out, but it's hard now with the Defect system, you don't get the opportunity to even defend yourself if they Open a Case - not so bad if they message direct, string them along a bit and see if they fall apart . . . . .

I have a simple little motto, if you will - people who lie to me may occasionally get the better of me (often with a theiving helping hand from eBay), but people who tell me the truth will get the best from me.
As an example, I had one person buy a couple of items, fully described accurately, including metal content, and wanted to return them well after my change of mind return policy parameters, and - funnily enough - after an event they had mentioned previously. When I declined the return, suddenly they were allergic to the pieces. I knew they weren't, because they zoned in only on the word "alloy" and said they were allergic to that. Tsk. Request rejected again.
On the flipside, I had a buyer purchase something and they wouldn't have had it more than a week before they bought another one - this item is not exactly cheap for what it is, and they were a US buyer I decided to allow to purchase on the proviso they pay $22 for trackable postage (basically doubling the price - it's a $24 item). After messaging them, they explained after they received the first one, they showed it off to a friend who subsequently broke it. I said I'd include some spare parts in with the second package, and help repair or reconstruct the original any way I could. But, in actual fact I sent two new, complete items. (Buyer could have easily lied and taken advantage of eBay's offers etc, but I sent two mostly because they had ultimately paid me over $90 just to have one of my items.
Moral of the story is... Tell me the truth (and stroke my ego a little), you'll get much, much further than trying to lie

There are buyers who tell lies and there are just as many sellers who do the same. That is between them and their consciences but I 'believe' the buyer until there is proof positive they are lying.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?
