when you alter the invoice to 0.00 postage DO NOT HIT RECALCULATE
that takes you back to the original invoice (I know it is a stupid name for that button!!),
just hit preview, then Send if it looks OK.

The buyer may have requested an invoice.
I do for my business records - it is a standard record keeping requirement.
I do for some of my personal purchases also - in case anything goes wrong down the track, as the invoice provides me with more information than the spam eBay sends buyers.
Or any number of other reasons.

Thank you all. I have fixed it.

I sent an invoice the other day for a local buyer, on a free post item, and gave her the option of me delivering (my house was a pigsty and I didn't want anyone to see it!) or post if she prefered. As it was, I offered to deliver after I finished work on Saturday and she was at the very shop I needed to go to after work, so it was win win! At least by sending the invoice, we both have a record if we need it (I always send a copy to myself in case a buyer says they didn't get it).
