I have listed my husband's very expensive phone (it's over $5000 brand new) and finally sold it at best offer for only $1300, much less than what we were hoping to get. But we really needed the money. I took all precautions - took very detailed photos, sent the buyer the IMEI number and tracking number, insured the phone for $1300 when posted. She received the phone and literally the next day I receive a message that she believes the phone to be a copy or a fake. I am in a state of shock, I am not a retailer, I only sell my own second-hand goods and this phone was a gift from a close friend of my husband's. There is absolutely no chance that it is fake or a copy. She didn't even investigate, i suggested that she takes the phone to a TAG store to check and she completely ignored that. I have a feeling this is a scam artist who is now requesting a return for refund and will send us back a fake phone to scam us.
My questions is, does anyone has any experience with what kind of process ebay/pay pal follows when a buyer claims the item to be fake? I listed the item with "no returns accepted" condition so I am also wondering - am I able to reject her return request?

Hope the buyer doesn't decide to dispute the decision over the next month (they can). Just be aware of this.

Don't think you will get away with this scam!!!! I will do a Appel to re open the case.
Sounds like a real bright spark, he can't even spell properly. Hang in there. They have ruled on your favour once, they can do it again. Don't reply to his message, but don't delete it either. If there is any more abusive emails, ring eBay and get them to look into it.
I don't think the scammer liked being told what to do!

I wouldn’t worry too much about an appeal.
The dispute closed because he failed to provide the further information you demanded eBay require the buyer to provide, and my gut feeling is he won’t provide it any time real soon. Therefore the appeal is likely to be pretty much a big name calling session with little if any substance.
In any event, if/when he lodges the appeal simply post the details here and we’ll help you with the rebuttal.
Just a question. Have you already removed the money out of PayPal account, if not, as no appeal has yet been lodged, take it out now.

If eBay/PayPal does allow the dispute to be reopened, I would be demanding the IMEI number. I still don't understand why that wasn't the first thing that was requested. At least that way if there was a switcheroo, there may have been some hope of tracking down where it took place, and possibly even who did it.
