I recently placed a sales ad and didn't sell and at the end of the 7-day period, my ad was automatically placed for another 7-day period without me asking. Wil I be charged for this? I did want to delete it and try on another site so, if I do this, how do I cancel the current ad?

If it's an auction, eBay will automatically relist it for 8 times for free, unless you untick the box when you create the listing. I would let it go for the 8 relists, then if it doesn't sell, look at listing elsewhere. You have nothing to lose by lettiing it relist on eBay. It wont cost you anything. After the 8 relists, it will fall into unsold.
Kopes mentioned about the option to stop it relisting in the dropdown, That option hasn't been there for for over 2 years. If you want to stop it relisting, you need to manually edit the listing and untick the auto relist box. Seriously, I would let it keep going. It's a nice desk at a bargain price. If it doesn't sell after 8 FREE relists, look at your local Facebook buy swap and sell sites.

I've been on Ebay for over 15 years & the auto re-listing option box disapppearred about Feb-March in 2020. It was ALWAYS availbale in ALL my previous listings over the last 15 odd years. A great selling tool. But no matter who you talk to in Ebay, they INSIST that the auto relist option is ONLY available to new sellers, which may be the case now (where was the announcement???), but it never used to be. The trouble is, most if not all of these Ebay helpers maybe new-ish staff & haven't any idea what's been "the normal" for the last 15 years...someone within Ebay is telling tem that the opton is only for new sellers. Even more ridiculous, is the FACT that this auto relist 8 times option is STILL (as at 28-11-2020) shown as currently available in the selling help & guide section. When quizzed about why it's still there, clearly visible as part of the selling instructions, Ebay told me that it's only for new sellers, but they can't say why it's been removed for all us long term sellers after all these years. Makes ZERO sense, as I used to often only sell something when it's re-listed a few times...so Ebay might think that (if Ebay's sales are down now)...that it's Covid-19's fault, but I can tell you, it's the removal of the free 8 times re-listing that's hurt my site. I've ven asked where Ebay says that the auto 8 time relistings are only for new sellers (it's NOT stated ANYWHERE on Ebay)....I was told that they had information that the public was not privy to.....how ridiculous is that? I genuinley think that it's a mistake that's been carried through from one Ebay assistant/worker/supervisor to the next, until, as it is now, it's considered to be fact...I think it's an error....just like currently (as it has been for months now) my Overview shows that I have a usage of 0/40....(0 listings used and 40 left to use this month), but I used up my 40 free listings very quickly this month (& every month actually), so I KNOW that I've used all the 40...crazy....I've brought this to the attention of Ebay several times, whose only advice to always make sure I don't go over my 40 free monthly lisitngs....even though Ebay states 0 used....40 left (0/40).....

I struggled to read most of that, but I am a moderate volume seller and still have the free relists. I am an established, long term seller. Try revising with the app. Sometimes if the box isn't there when you create the listing, it's there if you revise in the app.
