Hi fellow ebayers I run a Engineering shop in Australia on ebay , in the last few months things seem to have got very hard to sell
I cannot sell items as cheap as the Chinese sellers who sell direct to our buyers also I cannot offer them free post as we all know Australia post have got very expensive, I run a business have a ABN number and pay all my dutys and GST
which our fellow oversea's sellers do not in this county anyway.
It would be interesting to hear from fellow sellers who may have simular concerns , also any sugestions how to get sales back up would be very helpful

If you have a read around the boards, you will find that the list of members experiencing the same problems as yourself is both long and distinguished.
The best solution that I have for you, and I daresay it is not the one that you want to hear, is to diversify. Change what you sell. Identify a product which does have strong consumer demand in addition to your ability and willingness to enter the market at that level.
Best of luck with it all, and I'm sorry that things have taken a downturn. I hope that you find the solution that suits you.

Hi,
My sales have dropped off as well. I don't understand why because we sell childrens socks and tights and we were selling loads. It is obviously still winter and we rank highly on Ebay.

I just had a look, you may have 900 listings, but all I saw was 4 different products with numerous variations of each?
I'm not sure how much help you would get from the Australian Boards (which you have posted on) as winter is just about over here, svsryone is getting ready for summer. Well, we are here in Qld anyway, and judging by the other australian listings atm, most sellers are starting to move away from their winter clothing ranges onto those suitable for warmer weather.
So again, all I can suggest for you is to diversify your range a little bit - add a few different things. If you want to sell overseas, I think that you need to cater to the climate of that country.
