Hi all. I listed a vehicle which sold last week. No questions or inspections by the winning bidder. No contact from him after auction. Finally responds with" ïf you have another buyer, sell it". I will chase for fees. I relist again with the same outcome. I specifically wrote please only serious bidders as the previous buyer pulled out. What more can you do to stop these bored, no life, time wasters. ARGHHH

Open non payer disputes, wait 4 days, close & the tyre kickers will be issued strikes by ebay.
You'll receive a refund of your FVF & can relist or make a 2nd chance offer to the underbidder if there was one.
DON'T leave any feedback as its against ebay policy for sellers to leave a positive with a negative comment.
Put block in place to stop those with 1 or more unpaid item strikes in last 12 months from bidding on your items & also block the members who haven't paid.

I have found the same in general, moree bidders that just dont want item? and you fllow up and follow up very rarely getting any response at all
Mind you I was on the opposite end also, purchasing items waiting combined postage as promised and seller would not respond

...and what really upsets me is that the two buyers who did not even respond last month are STILL rated at 100% positive - where is the 'strike' that they received?
Yes, both cases are closed and I received my FVF but I cannot see on their history/rating where they received a strike for 'unpaid item'.
AND.... I am not even allowed to leave feedback that actually tells the true facts about the transactions - that they have cost me time and money (insertion fees) and one of those sales was an auction and the possibility of a 'second chance offer' came too late for the second bidder.
NOT FAIR EBAY - please look into it!!! X-(

No you cannot see their strikes but ebay can, if you have your buyer requirements set to block bidders with more than one unpaid item strike then you will have fewer tyre kickers.
How would the buyer having neg feedback help you? As you don't know who is going to bid a member with dozens of negs could bid in the last few seconds and you would have no time to check out their feedback and cancel their bid!

List the vehicle as a classified ? There are other avenues then ebay to list a car

It looks like Nigerian scammers have infiltrated ebay.
2 transactions in 2 days on the same item.
ebay closed my transaction as it wasn't made by the owner of the account.
Relisted the item and BANG...here we go again.
After the fact I received legit emails from ebay saying the transaction closed, the scammers then sent "paypal" emails saying that payment was to be made and I have to ship the item etc etc etc..
Do they think we're stupid?
Ebay is not doing enough to PROTECT the Sellers.
Make the sellers put the money up front in a "bond" type account IN ADVANCE so we are guaranteed our money and stop having to jump thru eBay's series of bloody hoops every time.
One non-buyer how didn't pay and now these 2.
First experiences on ebay with selling. Not a good strike rate, 3 out of 3.
Who would want to sell on here?
My two cents worth!

At least you would know the reputation of the person you are dealing with..even though after the sale and could take appropriate action with the use of extra protection or outright refusal regardless of the consequences.
sometimes it is better to wear a negative or a seller compliance infringement rather than lose product, time and money....
Howver if you would prefer to not read those negative comments (if they were allowed) then you could stick your head in the sand, carry on as usual and ignore other sellers warnings if that is your perogative

tofly1985,
Do you sell only to members who reside in Australia? Most of your items have been Pick Up only, so I assume so.
Why don't you have blocks in place to stop bidders outside Australia bidding on your items?
eBay DO have many options to protect both buyer and seller, but, if YOU don't take steps to protect yourself, it's certainly not eBay's fault.

Awesome idea tofly-then when silly people pay the SELLER via bank deposit & don't get their item, ebay can take the money from the SELLERS bond account.:-)
One non-buyer
What's a 'non-buyer' ?:|
