Hi all. I listed a vehicle which sold last week. No questions or inspections by the winning bidder. No contact from him after auction. Finally responds with" ïf you have another buyer, sell it". I will chase for fees. I relist again with the same outcome. I specifically wrote please only serious bidders as the previous buyer pulled out. What more can you do to stop these bored, no life, time wasters. ARGHHH

If every seller followed through on non payment disputes, and put their buyer blocks in place this would not be such an issue.
Sellers who were so worried about negs spoiling their perfect feedback and were just copping the unpaid buyers, not following them through are the ones causing the issue here IMO.
Ebay does have rules in place that will remove feedback left by a non paying bidder now.

If every buyer followed through and paid for their purchase, and ebay put appropriate NP buyer blocks and sanctions in place, including displaying number of NP strikes, not removing NP strikes willy nilly and a serious level of buying restrictions, this would not be such an issue.

Well well catpjs what do you know, we agree on something! - ebay removing strikes to easily IS a problem. But "if every buyer followed through and paid"?- yes this would be the ideal, but we do not live in an ideal world- you are still going to get silly school kids who think its fun to annoy a few sellers buying up big etc, (yes I know the kids have to be 18- but this does still occur in the real world), and not to mention mentally unstable people using ebay! We had a non payer a few years back when you could leave negs- this buyer was a very charming fellow, would call and make arrangements to pick up and not show, after several of these I opened the dispute, closed it and left the neg. The neg didnt achieve anything other than to show the world there was obviously something strange going on in this mans head, as he had many similar fb before he was deregistered. I didnt feel good, or better because I left that neg either.
A serious level of buying restrictions can be introduced by the sellers IF every one of the sellers on ebay puts those buying blocks in place- imagine how frustrating for the serial non payer to be blocked from purchasing? And if every seller opens disputes and follows them through.

Yes, that would be good if sellers did that.
It would be even better if Ebay who is at the controls for the whole kit and caboodle, rolled out some improvements too.

I only sell to inside OZ.
The two cases now are always buyers in South Australia funnily enough.
When they want the item posted, the mailing address changes from "South Australia" to "Nigeria"........go figure.
Both are low ebay users and both have their listings "private"....go figure.

There has been a lot of posts lately about non-paying bidders. Personally I always pay within 24hr of winning an item. If all these posts are true then it would seem no-one is actually buying anything anymore.
Just a thought on this subject....are you sure they are buyers and not competitors?

This is a huge problem.
After 10 years of selling I have had more of these in the last week than I have in all the last 10 years.
The increasing fees and this aggravation will make ebay not worth the drama from 1 May....

ebay keeps the original listing fee I think - so this type of behaviour must be a big winfall for the ebay coffers

I dont sell a lot, 15 cases opened, 8 closed with FVF ..
I am amzed how many people bid and never pay or even respond to the dispute.
then again, why bother when there is no negative feedback given to buyers. Strikes do not seem to do much either.
I put negative in their feedback, just before I close the case.]:)
