Is it safe to post glass items. What is the best way to send them in Australia.

What is the best way to send medium size glass items.   Does bubble wrap protect them completely

Wrap in bubble wrap and place in a box then put that box in another box with lots of bubble wrap or news paper between the 2 boxes.

BUT if it arrives broken to the buyer no matter how well you package it you will have to refund.

AP does not offer a fragile service and you might have to ask about courier costs.

Hi, I have been selling glass for about 7 year so I am very practiced at packing glass, you need plenty of bubble wrap a good box and also some sort of filling material ( void filler)  I use chipped polystyrene to line the box so there is no movement in the box, newspaper is of very little use to protect the items, I hope that helps, regards

I used to sell glasswear and crockery collectables years ago.  Make sure you stuff the inside of the item with paper, like newspaper or butchers paper, before wrapping to help absorb any shock to it.

Also when wrapping with bubble, wrap the first layer of bubble with the bubbles outwards.  Then the second layer with the bubbles inwards.  This gives a nice puffy cushion in the bubblewrap. Go with a third layer of bubble if there is room.

Then the box inside a box etc as was mentioned above.

I sell candles in glass jars that are quite fragile.  I wrap the jar in bubblewrap and then put it into a box lined with paper or some type of filler and then surround the jar with some type of filler as well, be it paper or those things that look like cheesels, lol, sorry best description I could think of.  When I put it in the air bag I put 'fragile' tape on the airbag and write under the tape in black texta, 'Glass'.  This way, hopefully, they will be a bit more gentle with the handling of it; to date all my items have arrived unbroken.
