Is this a scam ?

Just looks like a new seller not knowing the BIN disappears, thinking it a reserve.

They listed in the wrong category and probably didn't know that they can't set a reserve in pocket bikes and

thought the BIN option was the reserve,(they could've if they had used the correct category).

It's a real shame Taz that eBay insists on shooting themselves in both feet - they hammer some sellers with defects and dsr's then shortly after restrict their selling abilities, yet allow free reign to blatant scammers (usually Chinese), then on the other hand they give no protection to inexperienced buyers that have been ripped off by those scammers (unless they know they can ring Paypal to open a case after talking to a supervisor).

When you search that catagory ( Pocket Bikes ) it's just littered with Scammers. Do ebay actually care about anything !!!! Reporting them is utterly useless.

My point exactly go -tazz what is the point of even bothering to report them. Bug*** all is done about it. Why even have the "Report Item" buttons there in place ? They are Blatantly scams, but nothing ever gets done on this site. It's RIFE with BS from everywhere.  Just makes me laugh when you see Gowns listed in pocket Bikes etc etc and ebay just leaves them there. Any wonder ebay is on Skid Row.

That report system is all but useless as the T & S agents have no idea as to why they are being reported

as the scammers are the owners of those accounts,(they basically tell them that their account has been hijacked and to correct it).

All the scammer does is keep going,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

The 4 or 5 sellers that I reported today that had their items removed or they were made NARU, I did the usual reports - fake item, avoiding ebay fees by listing in wrong category, fraudulent listing etc, BUT, I also reported under prohibited item and used the firearms, weapons and kninves, then explosives and grenades option. I wanted to use something really out there to get their attention. Interestingly, only the ones I used that last option on got removed.

261730949972  , this one that was first reported on the 12th has now "sold" over $9000 worth of scam items.

99.6% as no negs have hit yet but they've "sold" over 100 scam items,(so expect that to change).

These are the copy cats:  111578299521   ,  161567679379

281556389293  ,currently at 88.2% with 4 negs.

171637595178 ,12.5% with 42 negs.

321603982273  , 50% with 3 negs and no feedback on another 5 scam items.

331417476470 this one was finally NARU'd 47.2% with 34 negs,(so it wont show but it's still in my watch list).

Mr Makita had his scam Makita removed today, but has now relisted it. Talk about bold! I reported it when I got home from work at 11pm last night and it had only been live for a bit under an hour.  By 8am this morning, 33 buyers had been scammed.

Several of the listings reported last night have been removed today and 2 sellers were NARU'd. I think I closed 5 tabs all up.

Kopes, here's ones that I'm attacking at the moment. I think the more reports they get the more likely they are to remove them.

251798099191 - 4 items, 35 feedback 100%. Listed in Trucks, Commercial Vehicles and Car, Truck Parts.

261743560245 - relisted fake Makita. 7items in Go Karts. 366 feedback, 98.9%. 4 negatives unrelated to scam listings.

111576687009 - 21 listings. Some kind of Japanese dolls in Pocket Bikes. 53 feedback, 100%

161569763635 - 11 listings. 2 were removed today. Electronics including phones. 134 feedback, 99.3%. 1 negative not related to scam items. Actually, looking at their listings now, they were all removed and have been relisted. I know that because they are not showing that I have clicked on them and they are showing 6d 23h and 9d 23h.

371241063764 - 6 listings in pocket bikes. Some appear to have been removed today, but they have listed new ones, including phones. 226 feedback, 1 negative unrelated to scam items.

371241063764 - 1 listing left out of 11 in go karts. 294 feedback, 95.7%. 1 negative.

221669262403 - new addition this afternoon. 2 listings. Similar items removed yesterday. Can't remember if it was the same seller or not. 2 listings in Pocket Bikes. 99 feedback, 97.9% 2 negatives unrelated to scam items.

Tazz has probably listed some of these same sellers above, I haven't looked at those numbers yet.

Maybe so, but I still reckon it's a scam. Look at the profile pic, the ID was changed in November and the feedback left for others more than a year ago were clearly written by someone who's first language was English. The recent feedback received are from low feedback 'buyers', which is the same as most of the scammers show. The transactions were also conducted in GBP.

I believe this one is a hacked account.

Hijacked account

There are a few things there that scream scam.

They listed in the UK only over a year ago, become dormant and only switched to Aus when selling these.

The first 2 feedback comments are from low feedback members,(so most likely "mates" buying as the feedback

is very positive).

They changed their ID in November and then waited till the ID change wasn't on their ID,(The arrow bit

proclaiming they changed ID).

They are also selling 3 other scam items for less then a tenth of their true price plus they have 3 sitting in

completed with 29 sales.

This is my current watch list as some have been removed.:

121544502217

111578093140

171637595178  , 44 negs now

281556389293  ,  4 negs

321603982273  ,pointless reporting this one as all completed

331417476470  ,NARU'd

The account we suspect is hijacked now has a negative stating just that. The items are still listed though, despite multiple reports. Where is it going to end? If they hadn't blocked buyer ID's, I'd be happy to send them a message warning them, but eBay put a stop to that. That makes me think they don't have an issue with scammers.
