Hi, Just want to share this selling experience. It's bothering me and losing few night sleep lately.
Below are sequence of events...
1) Buyer notified me that item been received, happy with the condition but testing functionality.
2) Couple of days, notified me has problem not working as described and sending it to third party repairer/inspection.
3) I asked the buyer not to do that, but send back to me without touching it, I'll give full refund.
4) Buyer didn't send back the watch to me, still he said sent it to the third party for repair/inspection.
5) A week later the buyer came back, telling me the watch is not cleaned or working as described. Left negative feedback.
6) I asked the buyer again anything I can do to satisfy him, to return the watch to me and I'll give full refund. Never heard from him yet.
In my view, the buyer is abusing buyer's protection regards description. And, violated my "Return Policy".
What have I've done wrong? Anyone who have similar experience?
Your advice would be appreciated.

Did you ask for the report? get the buyer to scan it and then get in touch with the person who has written it. It is quite possible that the watch got too shaken on the way, and has developed a problem, it is also possible that the repairman just wants to charge for something that does not need to be done. Or that the buyer has another Seiko, which did need cleaning ๐

Wow Vinwagal - just WOW
I'm really sorry, but if I had have been the seller in this instance, I would have been on the phone to eBay in seconds once I received your message dated May 25. asking them for advice in how to proceed and had no further contact with you.
Maybe he is shonky and was hoping the watch would last long enough to exhaust the PayPal time limits, but at least he remained polite and non accusory throughout. He could have accused you of any number of things or offered excuses, but instead he offered you a full refund without a qualm.
Once you took the watch to a repair person without the seller's permission or direction from a third party such as PayPal, you really crossed some serious boundaries in my opinion.
I'm kind of wondering why you didn't just return the watch or proceed with a SNAD claim. You weren't happy with it. The seller offered a refund. Why not just return and move on?
I'm not saying that this is what happened, but after reading those messages, here is how it appears to me.
1) The seller is legit and sent you a watch as described. He may have forgotten to tighten something on the back - we will never know.
2) If the back was left unsecured, perhaps it was damaged in the post - I hope that is the case as otherwise it kind of looks like you substituted an old Seiko watch of yours for appraisal with the one he sent in an effort to get some kind of financial recompense.
In the back of my mind is the possibility that the seller is dodgy and when called out on it decided to cut his losses and refund following return (thus removing any proof of your claims from you) but the little voices are telling me that this scenario is clutching at straws.
That's just how I see it though. I'm probably wrong.

Who cares what anyone has done wrong, this is all about a ridiculous red dot on a computer screen!!!!
Sellers with hundreds of negs manage to keep selling, buyers come on the boards all the time after buying from sellers with dreadful feedback so a couple of negs are not going to have much effect especially when they are written in capitals and the spelling is wrong.
Get over it, move on and stop having any contact with your wassock of a buyer.

Crikey, you seem to forget that the watch is now the buyers. Once paid for and delivered its the buyers property NOT the sellers to dictacte what to do with it. The seller can advise only. And what is the problem with the buyer taking it to a repairer to get it checked out?

I don't know what putting emails sent between the two parties is ment to do. To me I think it's very unprofessional and who knows whats been edited. I think there is a line that has been crossed here.

No, I haven't forgotten that the watch is now the buyers. However, if they had hoped to return it, it has to be in the condition it was received, not altered. As the seller said, who knows how experienced the person removing the watch bits is, they may have done further damage, in which case, why should the seller have to refund for damage done by the customer?
Tall Bearded will be able to explain better than I. But it's sort of like buying a pair of shoes, wearing them for a bit and then returning them for a refund.

*blushes*
apologies OP - at least my posts show I was in support of the seller, so what I said aimed at you would be the same for the real buyer, not you.
But I am deeply apologetic for having put you down as the buyer.

and Vinwagal, now that I am reminded that it is you that is the seller, I commend you on the manner in which you did handle this abusive buyer, i.e your politeness etc throughout.

@supernova - No I didn't had the chance to ask for report as the buyer is not responding anymore after Neg Feed.
@phorum - Thanks for your advice. I'm not worrying about the neg feed. I think it all depend on how seller handled it. Depending on the response, sometimes it's for Seller advantage.
@Crikey - I thought you were confused for a while!
@Belinda & Foxette - Thanks for your thought. But, I can assure you nothing was edited on the email content, it was exactly how they were written and sequenced.. Anyone from Ebay should be able to check this email messages from my mailbox. As I mentioned, so we can learn, analyse and judge properly, we need to show what really transpired.
BTW, I reported this to Ebay as a threat and asked them if Neg Feed can be removed. They said sorry to hear all these, but not qualified for removal. I was advised to contact the buyer and see if he can agree to revise the feedback. Part of the problem now, buyer is not responding.
