Item ended

This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available. What does this mean?

Is the seller being shifty or is this a legitimate action?

Item ended

Sellers can end their listings at - almost - any time. Exceptions are if there is less than 12 hours to go on an auction style listing that has received a bid.

The seller may opt to no longer offer the item for sale for a variety of reasons (ran out of stock, the item was damaged or lost, no longer wish to sell, and so on). For most intents and purposes, an item listed on eBay is simply an advertisement, and an advertisement can be ended for whichever reason the seller chooses. I suppose the dodgiest reason would be an auction started low and not reaching a price the seller was happy with, which is not technically kocher, but even then there's not really much that can be done about it.

Item ended

Another reason to end an item is to update a listing.

Over the past week I have changed all photos on all my listings (mainly to get better images). Unfortunately, I did some of them on Friday when EBay was doing maintenance and the photos did not update on My EBay or on See Other Listings. So on Saturday, I ended these through Selling Manager (no reason needed, by the way), and re-listed a short time later. Used up some of my Free Listings but certainly corrected the photos.

There's a whole heap of reasons for a seller to end a listing. It doesn't mean they are shaddy or something.

I ended some listings when my son moved out of home. I realised i had some items listed that he could use. I have also ended listings when i have noticed i have doubled up, which is nolonger allowed. Sometimes things get broken or I just decide to keep it.
