Hi some ideas / advice from other sellers please, this has not happened to us before. We posted an item with tracking to the seller's address (his workplace) as shown on ebay. He claims not to have it , even though he saw the tracking steps showed it HAD BEEN delivered to his workplace.
We also checked the tracking steps via Aust Post website and according to the final step it WAS delivered to his workplace.
So, as far as we are concerned, we have followed correct procedure, as has Aust Post; is there any requirement of us to reimburse him for a parcel which appears to have 'disappeared' once it reached his workplace?
Thank you

HEY.....settle people - who cares what one does to try and 'protect' oneself.
OP asked for ideas on what other sellers may do.
All of a sudden we have posters dissing others and "outing" yet - What's going on??
( Still I've noticed it happens quite often )
Idea...
Before anyone jumps down my throat....I don't know how 'legal or acceptable' it would be as proof - I have done it a couple of times but never had to use it.
My very nice postal outlet gave me a few registered parcel pads ages ago ( probably can't get them anymore with the new pricing change )
I filled in all the details matching those on the parcel and had them officially stamped.
Parcels were not of the value that really necessitated paying the extra money to register - I just had an odd feeling about the transaction.
Now I use C&S
Hope everyone has a really noice weekend

redbook that is what my PO used to do with me when I was posting express.
Now I only use C&S.

hi Joe. long time no see!!
i agree send to any address if you're not covering yourself with PayPal Seller protection anyhow,
but, if you want to send something that is covered, you should get the buyer to change the shipping address in PayPal when they are paying.
I have about 6 or 7 different addresses in my paypal, so when I buy something for the daughter / in law / or my son or my grandkids I have it sent to them direct, but I make sure I change to their address in checkout before paying.
that is why it is important to check the paypal address, as that is really where the buyer wants it sent to.
hi putney
i just bought an item the other day and going through checkout i can see its quite easy to change the shipping address for PP, so if i get any more requests for expensive items with trackable post, i'll have to get the buyer to do a little bit of typing.

yes, we have closure
received email from Aust Post after lodging problem; they tracked the item as both I and the buyer had, from me to workplace. So buyer has accepted that I did the right thing, Aust Post appears to have done the right thing; once it got to his workplace it simply 'disappeared'.
We have left each other positive feedback.
thanks for those who gave good advice
