Hi all...
I had 4 items listed - 2 x pink and 2 x purple.(as variations). A lady bought 1 of the pink ones and paid immediately.
But when I logged in to ebay to organise everything ready for postage, I found a message from ebay saying my listing had been removed. So the lady's purchase does not show up in the SOLD part of My ebay and I can't mark as posted. (because it's not there)
All I can gather is that because it was part of a variation listing, the sold one got removed along with the 3 live ones.
Luckily I went to paypal and, through deduction, found her payment all completed, so I was able to still post it off, but can't tell her I have done so! Am I allowed to write her a quick email using the email assress supplied with her shipping details on paypal? Or is this a no-no?
Thank you all in advance for your help! ๐

That's what I would do, and the sooner the better I think, as eBay send an automatic email to buyers when an item is removed that is often a little panic-inducing and sometimes results in disputes being open.

There's no problem at all with contacting YOUR customer after the sale - whether you do it through eBay or through direct email details provided.
IN addition to the Paypal email you should also have got an item sold email from eBay. Both will have the buyer contact details.
And yes - do it asap to re-assure your customer all is OK.

Thanks digital ๐
Does that mean if I have 3 people watching and the item is removed, those 3 people get the email? D

oes the email state why the listing was removed?
Just wondering if that is detrimental to me as it may send a message to buyers that something's "fishy" - which it's not!
Maybe it's the nature of the beast and it's something I have to cop?
Thanks again ๐ ๐

I've received an email about an item I was watching once, so I guess they get sent out sometimes but I'm not sure if it's all the time.
The email basically says that they (eBay) can't say why the listing was removed (for privacy reasons), but that it was done to keep the community 'safe' and protect against fraudulent listings (which to most people infers that the listing was unsafe or fraudulent), and they also advise people not to pay for the item. From memory (it's been a while since I've received one), it also says that if you have paid for the item to refer to PayPal etc if you haven't received it, so you can see why some people who get such notices can suddenly think they were scammed and start a dispute in PayPal.
It's ok when the listing was unsafe, but listings from honest sellers etc are being removed for all sorts of silly reasons lately.
