Local pickup - paypal non reciept dispute

Hello,

I've just had a buyer pay for a pickup item with paypal. I messaged my address but they live interstate and thought it was free postage. I sent a message explaining what local pickup means and they agreed to a refund and cancel, but just noticed they had already opened a non recipt dispute saying seller refuses to post small item.

What can I do here to avoid any penalty on my account for his mistake?

respond to the paypal claim that it was pick up only and you are going to refund the money.

It's only a dispute so far, if i refund via the dispute won't it affect my ebay account somehow that I had a non reciept case?

you will receive a defect for receiving an item not received dispute regardless who was at fault,, thats how ebay like to operate.
