Lower number of listings. Postage included in fees?

I have bought and sold bromeliads (plants) on Ebay for about 10 years. Up until this year the number of listings was always about 1000 to 1200 items. In the last year the average number of listings has dropped to under 400. Has anybody noticed a similar drop in the number of listings in your area of interest? Do you think it has anything to do with the inclusion of postage in the seller fees? I resent paying fees on money that I don't actually receive and this feeling has been expressed by other sellers in my area.

But if you price your items correctly the buyer should be paying the fees.

If you add a handling fee to your postage amount you can cover the small amount of extra paypable to ebay.

Wouldn't a reduction in your category be a good thing? More exposure for your listings? I don't fork out for any fees, the buyers pay them all.
