Hi there,
Just wondering what your thoughts were on a "Mark Received" function so that sellers have some idea if a customer has ...... well received an item, I know your going to say well they simply leave feedback so that is proof of item being received. Not in all cases, I have a few buyers that haven't left feedback and I would really like to know that they have received the item at least so that I don't have an issue in the future with coming to me months down the track and say they are still waiting for their item.
Anyway my thoughts are that Ebay could make it a compulsory action to be taken by the buyer and if they do not mark as received within say 2 months then they receive a reminder email to do so.
The reason I say make it compulsory is because if not it would just be like feedback and the seller would be left hanging.

If they can not be bothered to leave feedback or contact the seller then they would not be bothered to mark as received.
Like a lot of sellers do not mark as posted even with that option there for them with just a click of the mouse.

Yes, good i dea, as a caring seller, i like to know people have recieved items promptly,Maybe take it 1 step further where its calculated where it works in favour for us casual sellers "average days\delivery", might help us get sales, as there are some dogdy people out there with low FB scores, Which im sure is off puting to some buyers, ATleast people would know even as a casual seller your still a trusted person.

Hi sparklz, I understand what your saying but if it was a compulsory step in the purchasing process they would have to do it.

You hit the nail on the head, I really do care if a customer is satisfied with my items and all facets of their purchase as my/our reputation is the real seller here.

How would you enforce it?

Based on my experience and a 5 stars for communication, if a buyer does not leave a seller feedback it just means that they have more important things to do.

Yes,as super nova asked..how would/could it be enforced? ..they (the buyer) have the item they paid for...it is theirs.
How could or would it be enforced?
Do you think that the seller should get a refund if they don't ?
that wouldn't be legal would it ?

How can eBay force buyers to come back to mark as received after they've got their items?
eBay send members feedback reminders regularly but it doesn't make all members leave feedbacks.
I think it's a good idea if all members do it but I can't see how it's possible foe eBay to force all to do so.

Just as a b&m store owner could not force a customer to say Thank you before leaving the store with the item they now legally own .
