Just a word to the wise.
Aust. Post has increased its international postage rates today and the Ebay postage calculator is still showing the old rate.
I've just sold an item at old postage rate of $17.25. It will now cost me $28.90 to post at today's new rate.
Not happy as item was only $8.99
I hope Ebay pulls its finger out QUICK SMART!!!

even worse if it is to the u.s.a. which will need the extra $9 =
501g-1 kg to u.s.a. now costs $37.90

although if it is under 500g it will now be LESS to post to u.s.a. - used to be $17.25
now it is $13.70

Hi Curraone,
A little good news, then!!
But I've never had to pay the $9 surcharge to the States. My PO doesn't charge for it and I've never had a problem.

Are letter rates to overseas increasing in postage today? last week it was $4.50 to the UK to send a DVD
on โ22-10-2012 10:13 AM
not counting asia/pacific zone, the rest of the world letter rates is
$2.35 for 50g (no change)
$6.20 for 250g
$14.20 for 500g
it seems odd that it is now cheaper to send a small parcel to u.s.a. at $13.70 parcel rate than for a large letter $14.20.

They've abolished the 125g weight band for letters, so rate goes straight from $2.35 for 50g to $6.20 for 250g and then $14.20 for 500g.
So the 50g rate's the same, 500g has gone up, 250g has gone down, and anyone waning to send a 51g letter will feel the pain as the 125g weight band has gone. And of course, the prices have officially become a dog's breakfast as they are no longer simple multiples of the 50g rate...

Pre-paid local satchels are up too. 500 gram from $7.20 to $7.85, 3kg to $12.50 (from $11.40 I think), and 5kg to $15.90. Owch.

I wish I had seen this yesterday. I used the calculator last night for a parcel I sent today. Calculator said $7.05, Aust Post said $13.20!! Thank goodness I made profit enough to not lose money on the transaction.
Leaves a very bad taste in your mouth though, doesn't it.
