New "Sold" email notifications

It looks like eBay has finally updated the Sold email notifications. The blurb now says

Buyer: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Buyer's registered address (not for postage):

xxxxxx
xxxxxx
xxxxxx
xxxxxx

Please note that the postage address may be different. You’ll receive the postage address via email as soon as the buyer has completed checkout.

So did implementing a simple change such as this cause the massive crash yesterday  ?  Is the system that overloaded and broken ?  Heaven help us - wonder what else they have fiddled with . . . . .

Pity they don't send an alert message to everyone who was at least logged on yesterday and explain what errors may have occurred (if they even know) and perhaps suggest Buyers contact Sellers they purchased from to confirm their orders were received - at least that would give sellers a heads up to go on a treasure hunt looking for sales in PayPal etc etc . . . . . .  I'm sure all Sellers & Buyers don't frequent the boards and similarly many Buyers only log in to buy, and don't spend very much time logged in.  But at least some form of action on eBays part may help to alleviate even a small percentage of the resulting problems.

New "Sold" email notifications

My end of auction notifications from tonight have no buyer details other than their user ID. No name, no address, no country or the other contact details that were there previously, just instructions on how to check payment status.

Are other sellers now getting the buyer details that are listed on the first post of this thread in their end-of-auction notices?

Does anyone know if there is any way of opting in to include that information in your end of auction notices?

I now only get the buyer's Ebay ID with no other relevant information about the buyer at all.

Kind Regards,  Kevin

I'm getting them like the first post in this thread.

I'm also now not getting notified when an item doesn't sell. I only get notified that my listing is confirmed when it automatically relists. I haven't altered any settings.

Hello I-Love-My-Sheep,

I am getting end of auction notices on my unsold items, but the title has been changed from "Your Ebay Item Didn't Sell" (or equivalent) to "Relist: (title of the the auction)" as an encouragement to relist the unsold items. (I rarely relist anything)

I also note that my sold notifications open the Australian listings on the US site, so I guess this has something to do with me registering on Ebay before there was any Ebay Australia.

It is inconvenient, as I have developed my own system over 16 years. At minimum the country of the buyer should be in the end of auction notice, even if ebay believes the relationship between buyer and seller should not be encouraged to be personal enough to know each other's name.

Bah,  Kevin
