Had a buyer (who has bought from me before, and paid promptly) place a large order with me on the 21st of November (almost two weeks ago).
Waited a week for her to pay, because as I said, she'd bought from me before and paid, and because it was a large order.
Re-sent the invoice twice.
On Monday, (30th) I sent a message requesting that she contact me about the order, or else I'd have to open unpaid item disputes in order to get my fees back/re-list the items.
On Tuesday, I got a message along the lines of:
"Hello, this is actually my daughter's order. I have contacted her but she is not answering her phone. I'm so sorry about this, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear from her."
I replied with, "Okay, I'll wait for your response."
It's now Friday. No response.
I don't want to slap the mother's account with unpaid item disputes if it's her daughter's order (even though that isn't my responsibility), but I can't wait forever.
What would you do in this situation? Am I being too nice here? Should I just file UIDs?

I wasn't sure because they had replied to my message. I wondered whether my tongue in cheek comment many have sounded like that's what I believed.

I'm a bit patient. I usually wait about 8 days before putting in a UPI case.
I had one buyer pay immediately (within the hour) of me putting in a case.
He then sent an abusive email saying he was in hospital for a week........
I replyed how it was such an amazing co-incidence he arrived home from hospital the very minute I put the UPI in...amazing...lol.

It seems that when you are replying from a mobile device, you can only reply to the previous comment; you can't seem to select specific comments to reply to.

When you are on a mobile device, comments all show as replying to the OP, not the last message. That's why when I use my phone, I always use the full site for the forums.

I always use the full site. My response was to tippy toes, who was wondering why character_parties' comment showed a response to tippy toes when it was directed to the OP.

Absolutely, but not everyone uses the full site, hence a comment may appear to be directed to you when it's actually directed to the OP.

yet another reason to use a real computer...

It would only be directed at me if I was the OP. If the mobile version replied to the last message posted, it would have a heck of a lot of confusion. As it stands now, it's obvious when people are using the mobile version as all their replies are to the OP, even if they wish to reply to the last message.
