Why would I consider sending a large article interstate when I clearly stated PICKUP ONLY.
Are these people complete morons?

Cool, I can get a whole heap of parts for a Subaru Legacy for 99c if I win that auction and no-one else bids. It would be worth the drive to pick it all up to get all that for 99c!!! Even the $100 it would cost me for petrol would still make it a great deal!
The Suburu listing (per description) appears to be for a wheel nut only. It is misleading - title should say wheel nut only
and put the other parts in seperate listings...So how does one go about bidding for the other parts in the description plus the many more parts available?

If I was a new buyer, I would assume that the listing is for all the parts, especially as the main photo is for a door. I would assume that if I bid for 99c and no-one else did, that I would be getting all those parts. As an experienced buyer, I know from reading the ad that it's for the wheel nut only, despite there being NO photo for a wheel nut. As an experienced buyer, it seems to me that as he has left his phone number, that he is just advertising the other parts in that ad as a free classified, to then sell them off eBay. I'm surprised that no-one has reported the listing.......

It was a large item but comparatively cheap. The courier would have cost much more than the article was worth.
I'm unsure of your point.
The delivery costs are surely the concern of the buyer, and its worth dependent on why they want the item in the first place.

I think we are all unsure of the point.
I suspect the poster doesn't play in OUR universes.

I don't mind if people ask the postage cost for a Pick-up-only item. I tell them honestly what it would cost. If they still want it, they will bid and pay it. It does, however get annoying when they bid on it, then expect you to run around and get the best price for postage from couriers or AP, then decide they don't want it.
