Payout is less than it should be

Has anyone ever experienced ebay not paying out the correct amount of sale price minus all fees (listing & promotion)? All the reports and transactions they show, of the Listing Fee + Promotion Fee deducted does not clearly show why I am being short-changed AUD$46.20 from the amount deposited into my bank account.

I was, though probably the timeline of events is what messed me up. Ebay since explained to me that Fees from a second sale were deducted from the outgoing Payout amount rather than taken from the sale price of that 2nd sale. It's all good now but I expressed that it's not fair an amount I already earnt was used to pay fees for an unrelated sale because should there be an issue/delay, that amount is now also held up. New to selling so this is a gotcha I learnt very quickly ๐Ÿ˜ž

I was confused in the beginning also, now I have it all figured out.  Quite often postage costs come out later (this is for labels I have printed via ebay). It would be ideal if all costs were taken out before payment is forwarded to your account, but this is not the case.  I have often had an amount for an item less fees paid to my account, and then the postage being taken from my account straight after.  What I do not like it that ebay says "net proceeds" which is the item cost, less fees but includes the postage which is owing for a label that was printed. There is an arrow at the right that shows what each amount refers to, click on that and you get all the information.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye out for that. I've never used ebay postage. Is it economically better than just taking it to AustPost?

Generally, no.

eBay don't pass on the volume discounts they get from AP.

If you have a MyPost Business account you will get some discounts if you meet volume requirements. If you don't, you are no worse off and are not padding eBay's bottom line for a third party service.

It costs the same to print your own Australia Post Labels on eBay as you would pay over the counter.  It is just so much more convenient.  The tracking number is automatically uploaded to eBay, and I can get any number of people to just drop it into the Post Office for me, and bring back a receipt.  All you need are a tape measure to measure the box and a decent set of scales.  Postage can be cheaper having a MyPost account with Australia Post, but you need to sell volumes, not for me, as I am only cleaning out the house of unwanted items.
